I think my parents' employed two very different parenting styles because of growing up in a split household. My father used more of a permissive parenting style because of the small amount of time we spent with him. When we would spend the weekend with him we would do whatever we wanted; we could eat all the candy we wanted to stay up late and play video games or play outside and have fun. My mother and stepfather, however employed a slightly different parenting style initially of being authoritative which worked well for raising three children. We ate what they fed us and finished it; we had a strict bedtime until we got older and everything was on a strict schedule to keep all of the kids on the same timeline.…

All around the world, children are being born, growing, and developing. With this, comes the role of the parents to help guide them along by raising them. Yet, not every parent is exactly the same, as they all have their own “style” with which they choose to raise their children by, though in comparison some could be vastly different or strikingly similar to each other. These styles are what define a parent’s overall attitude and the type of relationship they have with their child. While they all have their own personal twists, every one stems from the same four base parenting models: authoritarian, authoritative, permissive indulgent, and permissive neglectful.…

This type of parenting was similar to Sophie’s grandmother style of parenting regarding family values.…
