Many teachers do not have the opportunity to have extra field trips to expose students to a variety of cultural experiences. The teacher could invite a chef from an authentic restaurant into the classroom. The chef can then teach the students how to make a simple dish from that culture. The students now have the opportunity to experience food from a different culture and be able to ask the chef questions about their cultural experiences. This positive rapport can help the children be more accepting of other’s differences. Traveling to other places may not be available to all teachers.
