Describe Myself As A Learner Essay

Decent Essays
I will be honest this class was not easy for me, I for one have not been in school for a while, but I am really very hard on myself, and this class showed me things about myself that I did not know. I would explain learning to someone like this, “Learning is one of the most important things that you will ever do, It’s something that is never done, there should never be a point where there is nothing for you to learn, education is something that nobody can ever take away from you, keep learning and never stop”. My views have changed one hundred percent after taking this class, I always went about my learning without knowing that there was a pattern to it. Since I got my LCI scores I notice things in my day, not just in my learning, ,my wife …show more content…
This class has changed my prospective on education and made things easier to understand.

My LCI scores. Sequence 14, Precise 30, Technical Reasoning 22, Confluence 28. Describe myself as a learner, I am not a strong learner, I get frustrated when I don’t understand something, I give up if I can’t grasp the project, I do this in all aspects of life, but after getting my scores and understanding how they work and what they mean it really opened my eyes to my learning type. I know that my sequence is very low, I don’t like to read the directions, I am scattered when doing a project, there are times when I will start it at the end and work in, I do care what my instructor thinks, but I don’t like to ask in the fear of being told that I am doing something wrong, so I go about it and allot of the time wrong, because I work to quickly and try to finish it as fast as possible. Precise is my highest score and it makes sense, I think that I ask more

The class was a good way to start school, it really paves the road for what is to come, if you have never done college or you have this class opens your eyes and makes things easier, at least it did for me. There is not a whole lot that I would change in the class itself, the class was very well put together, the only thing that I would change would be the audio reading of the text book, I listen to the book while I am at the gym, or driving, the guy that’s reads the book is very slow and it gets a little boring after a while, but that does not affect the class to much. My expectations were met, I have don’t online learning in the past, I was home schooled and there are a lot of similarities, they only thing that was a little different were the discussions, I was not all that great at them and I kept forgetting to respond to my peers, I will have to make an extra effort to do that in future classes, I think that I learning environment was great, the students are very helpful and the instructor was great, the feedback was helpful. The platform is outstanding it is very easy to use and once you get the hang of it you can navigate it with no problems. In conclusion this course was great, it has helped me in ways that I never thought were possible, at first I did not like it, but after getting involved and

This semester I took a class that was new to me. I knew absolutely nothing about journalism coming into MMC2100. The most valuable assignments were the AP practices. Although I was frustrated because I bought the online access to the www.apstylebook.com which ended up not having page numbers for some assignments. In the end, the constant use of AP style helped make it come more natural for some bigger projects further along in the semester.…

CPD 150 (Strategies for College Success) is a counseling course that has been a requirement for first year students at numerous Maricopa Community Colleges. The purpose of this course is to focus on improving student success through personal growth and college experiences. Not only that but developing study skills and encouraging career and educational planning are also seen throughout the course (“Counseling Courses”). However, the majority of the material covered in this class is common sense or there are resources on campus that can help out with various college issues. Also, taking this “college success” class is a waste of time and money.…

This class helped me a lot. I learned so much in just a few weeks. Yes, the class was difficult, but I would not change it. This class was made to be challenging, and changing it would make it easier. Even though there is more room for me to learn in future classes, this class has boosted my confidence a great deal. The area that I think that i have benefited from this class the most is in writing. I did take a little bit about of the reading, it thought me how to understand what point and author is trying to get across. When I am writing a paper now i know what person I should be in and how to draw in an audience. It is not like I am the greatest writer now,…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…

I believe this course was very effective for students as it reflects the purpose of every assignment. Every assignment not only helped me to gain knowledge about different topics but also help me understand their meaning and how they reflect in our life. Ex. I never knew what is Emotion & learning was until I was given the assignment. There I found emotion is very muchly involved in our daily learning and it either builds our motivation to learn or could also discourage us to learn.…

Goal I The first goal of the program was to “Apply major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology to prepare for graduate study or careers in which psychological training is relevant”(). Two classes met this goal, Introduction to Psychology (PSY 111) taken at Anne Arundel Community College, and Introduction to Counseling Psychology (PSYC 432) taken at the University of Maryland University College. Introduction to Psychology was the first psychology course I took many years ago. It was the class I took because I had an empty slot on my schedule.…

When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…
