American Values And Beliefs Essay

My vision for America is to have a free and successful nation that everyone will be proud to call home, and a nation with rights and values people are proud to show and embrace. We as proud Americans should be standing up to defend our rights and our freedoms. We as Americans should be rushing out our doors to make our nation a better place for us and for our future generations. America was and still is the symbol of freedom, to us and to many other countries around the world. America is full of different values and beliefs, but the values that I believe should be number one values in this nation are freedom, equality, and trust. Values are what help shape the foundation for America. Without any values like these America would be a huge …show more content…
You can go out and practice these values, teach others and teach the next generation. If all American citizens would start to have great values then I do not see why we can not remain a great nation.
As long as we sit here and do the things that we are doing this nation will eventually mean something rather than a great nation. If the people of this nation and the government possess negative values than people across seas will not like doing business with us. People would stop visiting or moving here because things would end up to be worse than they have ever been. That is why we need to come together as the great nation we are and fix these issues before they get out of hand.
This is why my vision for America is to have a free and successful nation that everyone will be proud to call home, and a nation with rights and values people are proud to show and embrace. Famous French historian Alexis de Tocqueville once said, “America is great because she is good. If America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great” (qtd. in Carson 651). In “Recovering America’s Exceptionalism,” Dr. Ben S. Carson explains that our Judeo-Christian roots and values are what set America apart from all other countries. These values include decency, honesty, compassion, and fairness. He explains that in order to achieve greatness, the American people will have to embrace these values when making decisions about our future. There are many ways in which America is superior to other countries, but I would agree with Dr. Carson that the success of our government and people is reliant upon the everyday use of these key values.…

values. During the Spanish-American war, the United State’s interest in the annexation of Cuba after its revolution called into question the American values of democracy and self-determination. American values were called into question once again during World War I when the American people (and initially President Woodrow Wilson himself) strongly valued neutrality when it came to entering the war. However, when the interest of keeping the American people safe was called into question, President Wilson urged Congress to declare war immediately. Following the U.S. entry to war, legislature was passed violating one of the most fundamental United States values, free speech, in order to further the interests of uplifting the war effort by preventing spoken opposition. Again, during World War II, the United States betrayed its values of Civil Rights by interning thousands of Japanese-Americans again to keep the interest of American safety. The Cold War and the War on Terror are just two more examples in a long list of times the United Sates has conflicted its own values to peruse its interests. Rather than rewrite our values to reflect our actions, its time for the United States to stick to its values. Instead of holding onto values and then betraying them once contradictory interests come into play, the U.S. needs to align its values with its…

The America I believe in is a country founded upon the basic right of freedom. Although often overlooked by many countries, freedom should be an essential part of any human’s life. Our Founding Fathers, who were strong advocates of freedom, took a risk by declaring their independence from the British tyranny. I feel that this risk that many considered to be unwise and rash, proved to be a brave and important decision that became an example for many countries who would later go on to declare their independence, such as Afghanistan and Egypt. The Founding Fathers had one thing that will prove to be a key constituent in many historical events: they had hope.…

America’s future vison is continually changing. It appears that regardless of the ideas one sets for America it is never followed through. George Washington, one of America’s first great leaders and presidents, warned the young nation not to allow factions, such as political parties and foreign affairs to take part in United States. My vison for America is that we once again regain a clean slate by paying off foreign debts, allow more advanced teachings in schools, and reducing waste and pollutants.…

The American dream is a keystone of our country’s identity. At the core of our nation are the principles of freedom, honor, intelligence, and dignity. Many consider America to be the greatest nation in the world because of our prodigious sense of justice and dedication to preserving liberty across the globe. We consider ourselves paragons of independence, a nation of brave young men and women who are leaders, warriors, and academics.…

They need to show general respect a patriotism and cherish what is theirs and what it represents; the flag. Freedom and equality for all. Another important trait for an American is hard work. An American is bombarded with many responsibilities, obligations, and duties every day. Americans need to fulfil their duties as an American if they truly want to consider themselves as Americans. Americans are always trying to improve the quality of life for the next generation. All parents hope their children will have it better than they did while growing up, which sometimes they don't think will happen. As the world changes so does our government to suit our needs. By having a changing government means that someone is always working to do the best for us, the citizens of the United States.…

Generally, I see myself as a person who has large goals to achieve, but, even in times of distress, the thought that American freedoms are granted to all individuals gives me faith that America truly is the land of the free, and that it needs to stay that way. This quote is quite uplifting in that it appeals the nationalistic side of all of us, and allows us to marvel at the true genius of those who fought for our independence in the first place. My American Dream not only includes success, but the preservation of liberty. It is this gratefulness for these liberties that have shaped my identity as a whole.…

America, land of the great, home of the brave; America the beautiful. There are certain rights and services that cause people to believe these sayings. For example, there are increased services for veterans and people in poverty. There is also freedom of speech and other rights that we have. However, this is not enough, not even close. My vision for America is dark for the reason that most of our “great country” has no respect for non-humans and treat them like trash; most of our citizens have little to no knowledge ,and often dismiss, rape and abuse; and often try to put themselves into other people's lives and make decisions for them based on their own beliefs.…

Recently the American presidency has crumbled. President Trump is “So ill-formed about the nature of his office, so openly mendacious, so self destructive, or so brazen in his abusive attacks on the courts, the press, congress, and even senior official within his own administration” says Jach Goldsmith. This shows that the control of the president and government is to a minimum because of all the worry that they have caused. America needs to turn back to conservative values, this nation has turned away from good values, the republican side of the election was the better side of the deal, neither parties candidates was a good choice, but Trumps values like no same sex marriage and no abortion are better.…

These principles are very much essential for our personal and societal survival. Putting things in straightway, we can work out on what should be the values expected when we analyze either ourselves or others, our behavior reveals choices, and choices are based on value system prescribed by the society. We often prefer about what is best for us and best for others. It is possible when we are not being selfless, putting the good of all at the first, ahead of our own wishes and desires. This is the way how social values come into existence and are known by everyone. Our brains are hard-wired to hunt for the Truth. No matter what blueprint are laid down by our families, education and work, we are seeker of ultimate truth. What words we put on this varies in time and place, culture and society, but we are all hunters of peace and truth. Ultimately, moral values compel our lives to find out and exemplify those concepts within our personality.…
