My Values Are Important In My Life

Values of a person are the things that they believe are important in their lives. It is a way to know how the person is, almost like “judging a book by its cover”, except the cover is their value. I did not know what my values were. It was not until today that I found out. Although my values are different from the ones when I was a kid, I believe the values I have now are the right ones. At a young age, I can remember that my values were fun and friends. The values that I had back then are not “bad”, but they would have got me nowhere if I would have kept those values going. Now, my values have changed dramatically. They changed from friends as a value, to my family being my most value. I also changed my values of fun to ambition and perseverance. My family is not used to opening up or even interacting with each other. Every time a guest or a relative comes over, my brothers rush to hide in their rooms. They come out to greet them occasionally but that’s about the most interaction they will do. Even though I say this, there are a lot of photos of us together, and the reason for that is, because one of my brothers and I make everyone gather to some place to interact and have a good time. He is the only brother that I can talk to and he feels the same way as I do about family. My family doesn’t like the idea that they have to sit together and talk but they do it anyways. It is nice that they actually communicate and have a good time but that is only a temporary thing because getting home, they instantly go back to their old selves. My brother is now married so I am the one that mostly plans the meet ups now. It can be stressful but it is worth it because every picture nailed to the wall at my house is a day where my life was whole. I’m happy when my family is happy, that’s why I want some changes, so they can be happier than they are
