Teamwork was an essential skill semester in order to complete and get the best grade possible in FYO-00108 Assignment 3, our group project. This is the first project that has required the co-operation of a large group of people – prior to this, my university experience of teamwork has been limited to pairs, e.g. lab partners and speaking pairs for language oral assessments.
For our team to work together successfully, it was necessary for all members to contribute. Overall, I believe this was done with great success. Image 1 and image 3 in Appendix I both give examples of many members of the group contributing.
I also personally supported the team by completing additional or miscellaneous pieces of work that the project required, such as an introduction to the report and various introduction slides in the presentation, as well as presenting additional slides during the delivery of the project to cover for members who were not there.

This semester in particular has provided more opportunities for me to develop my written communication skills. In particular, FY0-00034 Assignments 4 and 5 have challenged me to communicate in new ways.
For Assignment 4, we were required to take a research paper from a peer-reviewed journal, and recreate the information presented in the form of a popular science article that would be accessible to the interested lay-person, while retaining its scientific integrity.
Appendix V shows my work in completing this assignment, as well as the final mark and feedback from this. Although this was the first time writing a popular science article specifically, I believe I was able to transfer my skills from my own personal short story writing in order to give the piece a high quality of English, and to make it interesting and engaging to
