Analysis Of My Strengths

Improved Essays
My type is ISTJ (introvert, sensor, thinker, and judger). After I completed the verifier at first I felt that the results were accurate, but one or two things were off. As I learned more about my type I realized that they were spot on with the type that they gave me. I am able to relate to the five potential strengths for my type. The first one is being dependable and responsible. I grew up being aware of these two strengths for example, when I lived in Alaska I demonstrated these strengths a lot with my family because my mom had to function like a single parent, and she depended on me to take care of myself, help take care of my sisters, and help around the house. My mom was able to depend on me and by doing what she asked of me I was being …show more content…
The third strength was logistics. As far as logistics go I am the type of person who keys on and is quick to point out things that will prevent an idea from being a success. For example, I am always quick to look for the procrastinators and to stay on them the best I can. The fourth strength is loyalty. I am a very loyal person once I trust a person. For example, in my group for our service learning project I built trust with Ana. Anything she asks from me I won’t have any problem doing. The final strength listed is process innovation. I like taking things that people have tried and changing or altering it so that the end results are better. For example, in high school I had a habit of writing things down in my planner, but as I transitioned into college I found that my planner wasn’t very effective as far as me keeping up with my homework. In order for me to have better results I still kept the idea of writing down and keeping track of my assignments, but instead of using a book that I rarely looked at I bought a board and hung it up on my closet. The board is my new system to keep track of my homework and it’s way more effective than my …show more content…
They gave me five strategies on how to diminish my challenge areas. I need to master the art of investing into relationships, prioritize, delegate, be more approachable, and master the art of innovative thinking. I learned that the challenge areas that I have are big ones, and I also noticed that these are things that I do very often. What I didn’t realize is that my challenge areas are preventing me from reaching success. After I finished learning about how to diminish my challenge areas I then learned about NEs. In order for me to work well with an NE I have to be able to talk it through, be aware of first impressions, be aware of how I say things, give regular positive feedback, clarify the end result, pique their curiosity, give minimal details, don’t be blunt, be positive, and relationships come before task. I learned that NEs are very different compared to me, but by learning to work with one it betters me because they are the type of people who will help me work on my challenge areas.
Having knowledge of my type will affect the way I learn and my teamwork approach. It’ll help me have success in areas that I’ve been longing for. I’ve always wanted to be more social and take time for relationships little did I know the only person keeping me from that goal is myself. As far as teamwork I will become more aware of my actions because

After carefully analyzing my results from the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengths Finder and Holland Code, I now obtain a stronger understanding of myself as an individual and a learner. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator provided me with my four personalities which allowed me to thoroughly investigate each particular word and learn how I approach different scenarios. Before taking the type indicator exam, I knew how I operated as an individual and student but I was unaware of the specific words that stood behind my personalty. Now when people ask me, “tell me about yourself” or “how do you operate," I have strong and accurate vocabulary to use.…

Upon completing the StrengthsFinder survey, it is determined my 5 greatest strengths are the learner, achiever, competition, strategic, and relator, all of which I expected (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). While reading the text I examined the various themes of different strengths, relating closely to the 5 assigned by the survey, I am impressed by how well the explanations were written in the book, Strengths Quest Second Edition. The text in correlation with the materials provided from the StrengthsFinder survey brought forth meaning and depth into finding out exactly the type of person I am. Learning is listed as my top strength in the survey (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). I believe I have used that trait extensively throughout…

One strength I agree is, Jack-Of-All-Trades, this means with my strategic mind and analytical capabilities, I can analyze everything and eventually figure it out along with fix whatever life throws at me. Determination, if a project or assignment interest me, I will excel and probably go beyond on it, but this is only if I take an interest in it. General things that interest me is engineering things, science related projects (NOT biology), and problem solving whether it be law, math, science, or strategy. Another relatable strength would be independence; I do not like relying on others since I generally give little trust to most people. In a group the project the only way I can be 100% sure it is finished, is by doing the work myself.…

Before I took the StrengthsQuest test, I had no idea what my strengths would be. After taking the StrengthsQuest test, my five strengths ended up describing me as things I never saw myself as. This test described my strengths as an activator, a relator, a communicator, an empathetic person, as well as saying that I adapt very well. I can agree with StrengthsQuest that I am these five things.…

I might not be first in my class, or I might not always get the best grades in the class, but I always have that determination to work hard to be the best that I can possibly be. When I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror, I always want to be able to tell myself that I will and have done the best that I can. Another strength of mine would have to be that I am well organized. I like to have all my academic school work organized, which I believe also helps me cope with time management. Being well organized, makes getting my school work done efficiently and due on time possible by knowing when my assignments are due, and where my assignments are, rather than losing track of my work which may take extra time out of my day to find that information, which ultimately gives myself less time to study and get the most out of my education.…

After taking the TypeFocus Personality test, the system computed me as having the ESTJ personality type. I am not alone with this personality type, as approximately 8.7% of the American population share this classification. Out of the 16 personality types surveyed, ESTJ is one of the most prevalent personality types, when compared to the 16 other personality types included in the survey. ESTJ’s are very logical thinkers and their contributions to society are great in number. In this reflection I will explain the values and meaning behind this personality type and what it means to me.…

Some of my strengths in this domain would be incorporating my clients in their health and healing processes, eliciting understanding of my client’s interpretations of health experiences, assisting my clients to resources, and using evolving and relevant knowledge base. While working with one of my clients who was quadriplegic, I reviewed his care plan and noticed that much of it had not been updated since February. After talking to the LPN also working with him, I printed off a copy and brought it to his room to discuss. We went through it and discussed what he was still doing and what has changed. I ended up modifying one of his goals to acknowledge that he will perform breath stacking and coughing techniques PRN instead of the 2 times a day.…

The survey is 240 questions long and is comprised of a series of statements, most of these statements ask how much you think the statement sounds like you, but several of them ask how other people see you. After taking the test, it listed several of my strongest character traits, the top 3 traits being perspective wisdom, self-control and self-regulation, and love of learning. Thus far, how to study in college has been one grand experiment. I have only had one exam, so I am not sure how well my strategies will serve me in the long term. I would say that I had good study skills in high school, but these skills were very limited in scope: they allowed me to memorize a lot of content for a short time, and then allowed the content disappear from my brain not long after the exam or the AP test. My main method for history, vocabulary, and math concepts was flashcards. I did not study them every day, unless the topic was particularly difficult, and mainly my studying was focused on a few days, or the day, before the test.…
