There are a few events in a person’s life that define who they are and, consequently, who they will eventually be. For me one of these events was my trip to Mexico which changed my view on the world. This is the trip that made me realize how beautiful the world is. It also gave me the desire to travel and visit the abundance of other beautiful places the world has to offer. It also set me up for a future where I work to be able to travel to all these different places. Before my adventures in Mexico I was a child who could only imagine a world beyond her backyard. However, she was eventually able to live in it.
Mexico is a beautiful, sensuous place with several sights to view. For a child who had never left drab Missouri these were extra breathtaking.

Then I went to Mexico and felt the warm ocean breeze roll off the waves and thought man it would be tremendous to be somewhere comparable to this all the time. The resort my family stayed at was exquisite and it had a humongous pool. However, the beach was rocky and not enjoyable to relax on causing my family to go around to different beaches that were quite a bit superior. There was this one time where out of nowhere it started storming forcing all the people on the beach crammed in under this canopy. The canopy was an outdoor restaurant so while all the people on the beach waited for the storm to die down, my parents bought us nachos that were super savory. That was another commodity that was absolutely phenomenal was the food. There was this other restaurant my family and I went to that served authentic Mexican food that was superior to the ones in America. They just kept bringing us food and it was wonderful. Nevertheless, my family thought the waiters would never let us leave the restaurant. Mexico was also the place I tried actual coconut not the shredded type people buy in the store and it was marvelous. To me, even the plane ride was incredible and an abundance of people doesn’t enjoy planes, but it was a new experience and I loved it. Now not being able to travel is almost

In Costa Rica, I was a foreigner for the first time in my life, and I learned that it is scary to be an outsider. I knew a limited amount of Spanish so I felt overwhelmed when I had to speak to any of the natives. I gained empathy for everyone who has the courage to visit another country. I learned that it is really important to find locals who are helpful and kind, since it is super easy to get lost in a foreign country, especially when you can’t read any of the signs. It felt empowering to be able to find my way through a country that was completely new to me.…

This March, my family and I took a trip to Mexico for vacation. We did many fun things down there such as; parasailing, went on a boat for a day trip, sail boating, went swimming in the ocean, buggy board, sand volleyball, swam in the pool, walked the beach at night, got henna tattoos, a dread in our hair and went to the club with my brother and Emerson. The sand on my feet, the crashing of the waves, people swimming in the ocean, the smell of sunscreen and the wonderful taste of my flamingo drink; Mexico is my kind of place to be. But the first day in particular sticks out to me the most, the day we went parasailing and sail boating. Waking up in the morning in your soft hotel comforter, gives you a great feeling.…

When I think of a stunning place I think of the Dominican Republic. It’s a place where you can hear the ocean waves crashing upon the sand and feel the breeze blowing in your face. Where you can swim in the salty water and take long walks on the beach in the smooth, soft, and cold sand. It’s a place where you can taste the juicy steak and all the tropical flavors filling your empty stomach as you overlook the beach and the joyful tourists having fun on the beach. Where you can wake up every morning to the beautiful beach and turquoise water.…

I meet plenty of family members that I’ve only heard of, but never physically seen. Meeting my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. was amazing, but I was most excited about truly knowing how Mexico flows and how the lives differ to those in the United States. As days passed by I noticed how teenagers were different, people are happy and are very close to each other.…
