Why Am I Attending College

Great Essays
In these nineteen years of my life and being a college student for about two years, the one thing that I have come to realize is that getting a higher education from a good college is the key to success. I was raised mostly by my grandparents and my single mother while growing up. My grandma continued her education at Central Arizona College for her certificate in education, while my grandpa only obtained his high school diploma. My parents and grandparents come from poor families and not many college graduates. Even though they didn’t have any sort of college fund set aside for me they always tried to help me with my homework and give me words of wisdom and encouragement. Doing well in high school granted me a few scholarships that helped open a door to college giving me great opportunities and experiences that I wouldn’t imagine happening in my life. Now that they see my accomplishments from attending college they are very proud of me and supportive for me to graduate from Central Arizona College and continue my education at a university.

Going to the store around town or even taking a trip to Nevada and California was a blast for me, because I know that we would travel and experience beautiful things. Though I haven’t been outside of the country I believe that this opportunity will let me adapt to a variety of different cultures and people. Two things about traveling that I have learned was first it has taught me was to be open-minded about people and their culture and second how to respect others and their beliefs. I don’t have much travel experience, because of travel expenses and college but I would love to go outside my boundaries and see what the world has to
