Personal Narrative: My Transition To College Student

Going to college is a major milestone in every student’s life. My transition to college started off quite emotional, I woke up on move in day and almost instantly began to cry. My parents reassured me that I was in God’s hands and he is putting me where he wants me to be. This new adventure called college has been an absolute blessing from God, but with that comes change. I have had to adapt to living in a dorm and having a roommate( social- cultural) , not getting nearly enough sleep (biological) and being anxious about being successful in life(social- cultural). To begin, I have had to adapt to living in a dorm and having a roommate (Social- cultural).At first, I was worried about having a roommate; sharing a very small room and bathroom, hoping she likes me. Change is never easy and it takes courage, I have learned to put my trust in God and he will take care of the rest. But I already feel as though I have known her for years, I can tell her anything without worry of her judging me. She is there for me no matter the situation, and she keeps me accountable. In John 13:34 Jesus says “ just as I have loved you, you and to love one another.” Roommates truly mean loving each other as God does. …show more content…
Sleep refreshes the body so you can conquer the day. Without enough sleep my body begins to shut down and I become more vulnerable to sickness. My energy throughout the day is much less, sometimes resulting on the use of other substances such as energy drinks, caffeine, etc. school can become of less importance and more of a burden. In addition to my school work suffering, my relationships suffer. I have less motivation to say no to bad situations and temptations and end up in trouble. Or I avoid people trying to catch up on sleep and miss out on opportunities to grow as a person and branch
