Did your total fat intake equal about 25-30% of your total calorie intake for the day, with saturated fats accounting for no more than 7% of the total fat intake?

My total fat intake did not equal about 25% - 30% of my total calorie intake for the day. My total fat intake for October 20 was only 24% of my total calorie intake. I was actually quite surprised that I did not make the recommended amount for this day. I clearly ate foods that were high in fat such as avocado and peanut butter, but I still did not manage to make the daily recommended amount of fat indicated by my DRI. In terms of the amount of saturated fats, 6% of the fat that I consumed that day came from saturated fats, hence I did manage to stay within the frame recommended.

I am a full-time student and I intern 24 hours a week, so planning my meals is sometimes really hard and most of the time, I just decipher what I am going to have in the moment. Furthermore, since I am pre-diabetic, I follow a completely different nutrition regimen. I attempt to divide my food intake in the following manner: 60% protein, 30% carbohydrates and 10% fats. This is because I suffer from hyperinsulinism and consuming lots of carbohydrates, especially complex carbohydrates, worsens this condition. This exercise, did made me notice that sometimes my caloric intake is way too low. For the day that I chose to report the numbers were fairly similar to those from the DRI, however for other days, my caloric intake was extremely low. For one day, the only thing I had to eat was black coffee in the morning and then 3 slices of pizza at night. This is clearly not healthy and this exercise made me realize that to follow a "healthy diet" one must always be conscious of the things that one is putting, or not putting is one 's
