Teaching is a challenging, dynamic, creative, customized and evolving craft. The challenge is not in the physical act of doing the job as anyone can stand and narrate few words in front of an audience, but the challenge is to do it in an effective and efficient manner. I believe the essence of teaching is to facilitate the learning process and to get the students to engage in the learning process. As a perfectionist, it is a challenge to make sure that students are on the right track and make them take responsibility towards making plans and doing the work needed for the my class, other classes, and

It started, right after I graduated college, at a local center that teaches educational classes to the public. Then, I got a job as an accountant doing financial and auditing work. A year later, I started my MBA program which was the turning point in my career because at each and every presentation the professor would complement my presentation skills and recommend that I seek a career in teaching. On the third semester I was recruited by one of my MBA professors to teach in a newly established university in Cairo. After that I started my PhD program and for four and half year during which I was teaching in the accounting department. The best part of all these years of personal development and teaching was that I was on both sided of the classroom, as a teacher and a student, which helped me fine tune the wants and needs of students and also refine my teaching and presentation skills to better address and audience. Even though teaching was a priority, it was not the first on the list, as I was more into finishing my degrees and progress in my academic career, which is why teaching at Towson University is a whole new chapter and for the first time teaching is my full time job and number one …show more content…
I am currently the advisor of the Towson University Society of accountancy (TUSA), which typically is intended to introduce what accounting as a career would look like for freshmen student or students who are not aware of what account career could be like, however, TUSA outgrew its role and is functioning just like other nationally recognized professional accounting associations like Beta Alpha Psi. In this student association, I work hand in hand with student officers running the student organization to provide all members with skills like making professional resume, networking and social business skills, and initiating a connection between students and professional organizations for the purpose of internships and hopefully a full time job opportunity after

I worked really hard in all of my courses, so I ended up with a 4.07 GPA in the first year. I also started talking to the research professors at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to do research with them. After couple of weeks of looking, I got an interview with one of the professors and I started working with him. At first my main job was to clean the lab and help setting up experiments but soon enough I started doing actual research and working on my own projects. I also made sure to take summer courses since I was a semester behind than other students who started at the same time as…

However, my experiences show me the type of teacher I do not want to be and help me define what kind of teacher I want to be. Classroom management and behavior should be prioritized and teachers should have some form of pedagogy. The research supports what I believe an effective teacher is and what I hope to accomplish as a teacher. In regards to classroom management and behavior, I will create a welcoming and positive learning environment so that students feel safe and secure. I can do this by decorating the classroom and getting to personally know and communicate with the students.…
