My Teaching Philosophy Statement

Teaching Philosophy
As children we were always told by our parents to go to school. We were told to go to school and stay in school as long as we possibly can because without an education we have nothing. However with an education or any kind of degree, whether it be in political sciences or in education itself, you can manage to one day, rule the world. And I strongly believe in that. This is the reason I intend to become an educator, so that I can pass on my knowledge and understanding of the world to those who are willing to learn and achieve.
Putting myself in a position such as an educator, the progression of the students is much more important to me rather than the letter grade they receive in the course. Although I highly respect the history and old traditions of teaching, I believe that if a student has managed to

As cliché as that may seem, it is highly important for students to be respectful to others in order to be respected. As an educator, I will not tolerate a student of mine being beleaguered by another because of their differences which may include their race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, language, ethnicity, etc. With that in mind, I will make it one of my many responsibilities to emphasize to my students that my classroom is a bully free zone and that it will not be tolerated. Whether something be said as a joke or not, everyone should feel safe in the learning environment and should not have to be shy of who they are. If students enter the school with a positive outlook on life and accept people for who they are then not only will it improve on classroom management and disciplinary rules, in the sense that students are getting along and there is no physical contact between peers, it will also boost other students’ self-esteem, especially those who may appear shy because of their different race, or sexual

There are many debates concerning why people are educated. Is it because they are forced? Is it because they feel like it is the right thing to do? Is it because they want to make a lot of money? Millions of people assume that citizens go to college in order to make a lot of money even if they are going for something that they do not actually love.…

When anyone asks me what my culture identity is, the first thing to pop into my head is everything I am surrounded by and the closest people to me, also the activities I do on the daily and how it is done. Culture is something that is shared and learned as you grow up. What you learned is partially who you end up being in the future whether you can identify it or not. I define my culture identity as the things I am closest to and who I am closest to, which happens to be Jehovah God, his word the bible, and my family and closest friends.…

A letter grade can go a long way in being helpful as it is not only a way to motivate students to excel in their academics, but is also a benefactor in job opportunities as well as being a useful measuring tool for university systems and their teaching staff. One effect the letter grading system has on students is that it allows them to build a sense of work ethic, as some sort of effort has to be displayed in order to achieve and maintain an…

I support letter grades, because it has been around for so long and proven creditable. Letter grades are more understood by parents than number or verbal grades. The numerical grading scale is good for quizzes or for graduate students’ assignments. Verbal descriptor can be given as feedback when paired with a letter grade or number grade. I stand by letter grades because they are concrete and it is universally know what each letter means, without having to guess how well the student performed.…

Through my journey in high school, I have found that I am not always the smartest person in the room, but I am almost always the hardest worker. I find myself being the hardest worker because I am always working for the long-term goal. My biggest goal is to graduate from college with a master’s in education and to become a teacher. Of course, to do this I have to do well in school and challenge myself to make more than the bare minimum grade required to pass. This has led me to push myself in my classes, math team, extracurriculars, and volunteer work.…

If I think back far enough, I can still picture it perfectly. I remember sitting quietly in the library during first grade, scary “chapter” books surrounding me. Overwhelming me as I tried to read them even though my young brain wouldn't cooperate, just wanting to discover. Seeing me struggle, my teacher Mrs. Blankenship (I still remember her well) came and sat with me on the small, multicolored beanbags. Not only do teachers such as the one I had influence us as a child, they are an important part of the rest of our lives.…

Intro 1: Dr. Angela Lee Duckworth once said: “Grit is passion or perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with you future, day in and day out – not just for a day, not just for a month, but for years – to make that future a reality.” This quote has a deep significant for all the students who are trying to pursue their passion. My parents also encouraged me to infer, ask questions, and use my background knowledge to seek answers to questions I did not know. My father was a college professor of mathematics and my mother was a grocery store manager. Between them, they acquired multiple degrees. With their support, my parents encouraged me to seek college and post-collegiate degrees. As an educator, I have always believed in and practiced the philosophy of life-long learning that was instilled in me as a child.…

In teaching there is no single prescribed way to effectively teach students. Often, the approach and techniques a teacher uses will vary according to factors involved with their particular class including the subject being taught, skill area, and even the population of students within the classroom. There is also an array of pedagogical theories with varying opinions and techniques that teachers can integrate and adopt into their own classrooms. That being said, I do believe that there are some features that every teacher should implement into their classroom no matter the individual factors. This paper serves as my teaching philosophy, and in it I will discuss these items and why I believe they are key to any successful classroom environment.…

Philosophy of Education To me, teaching is love in action. Saint Therese of Lisieux wrote: “Kindness is my only guiding star. In its light I sail a straight route. I have my motto written on my sail: To live in love” (10). I believe that teachers need to exemplify deep, selfless love to push through the difficulties that accompany such a demanding profession.…

Philosophy of Education My educational philosophy isn’t just one of the five philosophies that we discussed, but a mixture between them all. Taking pieces of each one and making a new philosophy of education that encumpasses our growing technological world. Between the five philosophies, perennialism, essentialism, progressivism, existentialism, and social reconstructivism, I relate most to John Dewey 's progressivism teaching philosophy. Perennialism teaching philosophy, the style where you should learn what your ancestors learned.…
