I’m someone who cannot effectively work in a messy environment. If I don’t organize my tasks or assignments, I feel like my mind tends to wander, and I cannot be focused. Thus, I keep my desk extremely neat, getting drawer dividers and placing pens and pencils in separate containers. I believe that if I can easily find what I’m looking for, I can work more efficiently. This is something that I feel will reflect well in the workplace. Just like in my ordinary life, being Organized in the workplace may mean that I will have better productivity in comparison to my peers, as I work more efficiently. For instance, while it may take them some time to find the documents that they need, I may be able to find it faster, since I know exactly where to look for them. Being organized also means that I will set realistic and achievable goals that will keep my employees motivated at work. Additionally, being organized translates to being detail-oriented, meaning that I might be able to notice when things don’t match up. Overall, I think that my talent of being organized may prove to be helpful in managing my employees and my life. Success is when I feel like I have done the best that I could and the result is something that I am proud of. In the past, I felt successful when I feel like I have achieved a goal that I felt was difficult to accomplish. To be successful, I need to feel like I have worked hard at something for a long time, and see it to completion. Because of this, I think that I will need to find a job that strives to fulfill meaningful long-term goals. I think that being an employee in a company where I will need to undergo a never-ending cycle of short-term mundane assignments wouldn’t make me feel successful. I think I will need to work in a company that wants to make a large impact in the society, that way, I know that even my short-term mundane tasks are helping the company as a whole achieve a greater goal. For that reason, I think working in a non-profit organization or a company that has a good cause would be ideal for me because I will be in an environment where the employees aren’t simply aiming to complete today’s tasks or next week’s target, rather they are aiming for a larger goal.
