It has been 11 years, but that picture of a heart drawn by my biology teacher when I was in 8th class is still crystal clear in my mind. As the teacher explained about heart 's function, I was so astonished to see how splendidly our body worked, and it drove me to explore more and more about it and motivated me to choose biology as my subject in high school. In the first year of medical school that interest of exploring the human body forced me to study anatomy inside out, but till now it has been just that curiosity to know the human body. Then with the start of rotations at hospital I started to gain interest in patient care and started correlating all knowledge I gained with the disease process. I was thrilled to see his approach towards patients, it was simple and yet so accurate and only reason was that he was always broad-minded about every aspect. He always said 'sometimes you may not have control over a situation, but you still have control on how to view it, take a broad perspective and then you will be able to differentiate, prioritise and definitely you will make good choices '. After my internal medicine rotation, I admired the vast scope and diversity in this field which filled me with perpetual curiosity and exuberance to explore the world of medicine more. I love Internal Medicine because of the complexity and vast variety of problems which could be solved simply by logical and rational thinking. I am grateful for the clinical experience I gained in the U.S. during rotations at Mayo Clinic and Rush University Medical Centre. During sub-internship at Mayo Clinic I had responsibilities like those of first year residents which have prepared me thoroughly for my responsibilities as an Internal Medicine resident. These rotations were a great professional and personal experience for me and working in a global multicultural environment was really a treat. While working here I experienced an excellent work environment, professional and ethical conduct on the part of doctors that has reinforced my decision to seek a residency spot in the United
