We all are here for the same purpose, to learn. I feel that that is something I would want to change, not only with myself, but with the people around me. In time, I was able to display my leadership characteristics and really focused on making sure our interactions were interesting and productive. I also realized that positivity and enthusiasm are great to understand a different point of view; as negative thoughts, will only lead to a negative

They furthermore state that these at-risk youth need more counseling and therapeutic intervention from trained professionals opposed to a typical volunteer (Thompson and Kelly-Vance (2001). For example, a program targeting juvenile offenders indicate mentoring alone may not combat the issue and change the behaviors. Repeated offenders were three times more likely to be arrested than those who had no chronic issues. The findings also suggest one-on-one mentoring does not seem to be more beneficial over group…

Building from the national framework set out by CUREE (2005), collaborative (co-)coaching is “a structured, sustained process between two or more professional learners to enable them to embed new knowledge and skills from specialist sources in day-to-day practice.” Purportedly, the main difference with coaching and that of mentoring is how you reach the conclusions of growth with your teaching and learning practice. Schwartz proposes positive thought centres on such things as a belief in your abilities, a positive approach to challenges, and trying to make the most of bad situations. It is true to say that not every day within your teaching career will be as successful as it could be, not every lesson outstanding, and you won’t always have…

In Fall, I learned to work with one other person and learn to the community when creating an interview questioner and how to communicate with our interviewer in order to assure that we receive a passionate and open interview when talking about sensitive topics. For the winter quarter, I learned to work more with a group of six people and learn to communicate when it came to seeing who had done their part and who needed to work on their part in order to have things turned in on time. For this last quart for me, it was the hardest one. This time, we would be working more independently when it came to turning our work in but it was hard since we had to work with not only each other in the Oral Histories but also for the Communication and Design/Curriculum team.…
