I have learned about my strengths and weaknesses as a writer throughout the semester. The writing process helped freshen up my skills but I still have a lot to work on as a writer. Particularly on the midterm exam paper, I learned that my strengths were that I can put ideas together and summarize passages. Pre-writing helps me set up a foundation of what I am writing and makes it easier to clarify ideas. I learned that I am struggling in the revising process, specifically on grammar and punctuation. When I am writing my essays I write them as I am casually speaking, rather than using proper English. I find that my current strengths are creativity, format and planning.
