The most significant challenge I’ve ever had to overcome presented itself to me during November of my Sophomore year. My father had just learned his cancer came back. This news wasn’t anything new, since he has been dealing with cancer since 2010; what was new was that it had metastasized into his bloodstream and threatened his life. My father’s bout with cancer required him to suffer through several rounds of radiation. Even when he told me he was going to be okay, I could see in his eyes he didn’t really believe himself.
