The social exchange theory that I experienced personally was when I had a friend of mines needing a place to stay temporally. I know most people are taught to look out for themselves; however, selfishness has never been apart my personality. When my friend came to me about her living situation I was living alone with my son and could accommodate any friend in need. My friend and I spoke and went over some ground rules and I allowed her to move in the next day. I wouldn’t want to say that it was the worst mistake of my life because now I have learned any favors “you” maybe willing to do for others; others may not be willing to do any favors for “you”. Ultimately, we lived pretty well together, but when I hit my hard times and ended losing everything

Question #2 Hirschi’s social bond theory is a member of the social control paradigm and begins with the assumption that human beings are inherently drawn to deviant behaviour (King, 2016c, para 2). “Deviance is not socially created; it is inevitable unless mechanisms are socially created to prevent it” (King, 2016c, para 2). There are four types of social bonds that draw individuals away from criminality or deviance: Attachment, commitment, involvement and belief. Attachment refers to having significant others in ones life, along with a combination of supervision and caring. Strong and developed emotional ties with others such as families, peers and teachers can assist in the resistance from deviance and delinquency (King, 2016c, para 4).…

Once we got to the theatre, one of my friends forgot his wallet and was going to just go home and watch it another time. Social exchange theory is a broad social psychological perspective that attempts to explain how human social relationships are formed, maintained, and terminated. In my family the social exchange theory relates in many ways because humans are born to make decisions. When it came to make decisions in terms of our household and other expenses my mother and father made the choices. For example, my father was offered a new position at his job which required him to work longer hours, which possibly meant longer work hours and spending less time with the family. The rewarding part of taking on the position would be a higher salary, new title and employee…

My assessment on Social Bond Theory can fluctuate from time to time depend on what is being stated for me to agree on. The social learning theory talks the principles of behaviors. Which in life I believe that people should be able to learn about behaviors, because it really matters when you get into a situation, because they going to analyze the behavior to figure out how the crime was committed. Social bond theory kind of is similar to it because your increase your bonds towards somebody on your behavior type. Example, say that your friend left their apartment for a min and the people that was in end up leaving trash and you end up going to clean up the mess because you know it’s the right thing to do to respect their property.…

Roloff, presents a series of norms in the Social Exchange Theory, and there are four that we adhere to. First, the norms of reciprocity, which dictates whether resources must be exactly the same or just similar. Norms of reciprocity “refer to how the initiation of giving resources starts. People may initiate a relationship and give resources without any expectation of return” (Heath and Bryant, 2000, p. 232). For instance, when we first became friends, I would lend Jeremy VHS tapes and he would lend some to me in return.…
