Yoni , a young boy, decides to make a documentary on what people would wish for from a magical goldfish if they only had three wishes. Sergei Goralick, a man from Russia, dislikes the disturbance of people knocking on his door because of the living conditions he came from. When Sergei is disrupted by a knock on the from Yoni one day, he assumes the boy is there to take his fish and murders him. “He wanted to take you from me, Sergei says, almost crying” (“What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?” Line 116). Sergei was non accepting of Yoni because he made a quick assumption that Yoni was only there to take his fish. Yoni disregards Sergei’s privacy by barging into his home. “He tells the kid to shove off. But the kid is slippery, and somehow between saying no and pushing the door closed, Sergei finds that the kid is in his house.” (“ What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?” Lines 80-83). Yoni does not show acceptance of Sergei because he goes against Sergei's beliefs. Sergei disliked strangers and kindly asked Yoni to leave, but Yoni burst in anyways. In the end, Sergei sacrifices his last wish to bring Yoni back to life. Sergei shows acceptance of Yoni by bringing him back to life because he is giving him a second chance to see what he was actually at his to do.
