My Smart Goals

Recently, I was offered a new position by my employer, as an Account’s Manager. It was something I had not done in some time and wasn’t sure if I was up to it. After much thought, and consideration, I decided to go back to school and get my degree in Accounting. My husband was behind me one hundred percent and I knew that I needed to set goals for myself. I had read once “All the answers to your questions about what your goals can and should be lain within, so does your power to accomplish those goals.” That is why I am setting up some Smart Goals for myself. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound.
After I decided that my specific goal was to have my Accounting Degree in 2 years, the first thing I knew I needed to do was measure the amount of time it would take to accomplish this goal. This was very important to me as I didn’t want to wait too long. I wanted to prove not only to my

My brothers and sisters would always put things off until the last-minute and then, when time was critical, they would frantically call me for help. I am the only one in the family that is organized and always plan things, it is very frustrating. I couldn’t imagine my life being so chaotic as theirs was. Growing up it was very important for me to be able to manage my career and make sure that I have what I needed to enjoy my work. I know that at my age it is important to be accomplished and make more money. This degree is very relevant to my current position. By proving to my employer that I was the right candidate for the job, it will help me be more confident and show my company that I am a dedicated employee. That is why I know getting my degree is obtainable. I am determined to learn more about accounting and make myself proud.
