My Sleep Behavior Analysis

My sleep behavior is rather healthy and regulated. Since I am a student, I do not get the chance to exercise or nap, and since I am underage, I cannot drink alcohol and do not consume much caffeine. I found that my stress level does not affect my sleep patterns, since I am a heavy sleeper and have a healthy amount of stress in my life. Based on past experience, the only event that affects my sleep behavior is excitement for the next day and that was not apparent during the week of the log. I generally get a healthy amount of sleep because I have a set time to go to bed and a set time to get up. I do not stay up past midnight since I will not function properly the next day going to bed any later. I have found that I get a restful sleep almost every night. …show more content…
Having a regulated time for sleep allows my body to stick to its circadian rhythm and not interrupt it (Pastorino & Doyle-Portillo, 2013, 4-1c). Before bed, I do not participate in any strenuous activity and relax by watching videos or reading. The light from my electronic devices does not interrupt my sleep owing to turning the screen brightness to its lowest setting, but if it does bother a person who is struggling with falling asleep, they should just stick to reading. Finally, not ingesting caffeine removes the effects associated with caffeine, like not being able to fall asleep. I would suggest these options to people that are not able to sleep a soundly as
