My Short-term goal
What is a short-term goal? A short-term goal is something you want to do in the near future. The near future can mean today, this week, this month, or even this year. A short-term goal is something you want to accomplish soon. A short-term goal I will like to accomplish will be to maintain a high G.P.A this fall of 2016. While, maintaining a high G.P.A isn’t necessary for some students in college, it is very necessary for me. Because, I’m a pre-nursing student here at Lawson State Community College seeking acceptance into the nursing program by summer of 2017. The steps I will need to take to achieve this goal are as followed: First, stay organized, Second, attend all class meetings regularly, and Last, not to cram myself

Some ways I can stay organized is to get a planner. Use my smartphone for reminders. Make a to do list. Keep a notepad or sticky note around. Label all notebooks corresponding to each course. Prepare the night before and plan the week in advance. I can use a planner to write down each and every assignment that is announced in class or date any upcoming events, so that it will be easier for me to look back on and make sure that I have not missed any assignments or events. Next, I can use my smart phone for reminders so that I can reinforce myself on what is needing to be done and doing what time it should be completed by sounding off an alarm. Then, I can make a to do list so that I can write down things I need to accomplish in a day or a week because seeing it written out can help me to see exactly what I need to do. it will also help reassure me to cross things off on the list. I can keep a note pad or sticky note nearby, because it will help allow me to jot things down to remind me to add to my to-do list or planner later on. I can Label notebooks …show more content…
What I mean by not cramming myself with over scheduling. I’m talking about the courses I will need to take for each semester. It is important that I don’t cram myself by taking more than four to five classes each semester because, then it may be hard for me to study along with balancing life outside of school. Outside of school I’m a full time mom along with me being a part time employee at a rite aid store located here in Birmingham, Alabama. And, if I’m crammed with over scheduling I want have any time to either study, spend time with my four-year-old son JaCorey, or work my weekend shift as a cashier at Rite Aid. Some ways I can make sure that this obstacle don’t occur is by registering early in courses so that I will have a chance in getting the best timing that works with my outside life of school. Such as timing that will allow me to take my son to school and pick him up along with working on the weekends and having enough time to study in between all

The experience that I went through and that I would like to share was when I played golf in the beginning of the year. I was fine managing my schedule during the first week or two of school, but then I started getting more and more homework as the weeks went on. I had a hard time keeping up with my school work and playing golf. I practiced every day after school and I didn’t really have any time after school to do my homework. Playing golf took up basically all of my time because I played it 5-7 days a week between practicing with the school team or practicing with my golf instructor/coach.…

My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…

At the beginning of my high school career, I had no motivation. I did not set goals for myself so I was average in everything I participated in, never excelling at anything. It was not until my sophomore year did I realize that my college education depended on my high school performance. I had an intervention with my parents and guidance counselor and they helped me set small goals for myself so I could succeed in and out of school. I believe that setting goals will help me reach my full potential in the personal, academic and professional field.…

Just like many of my peers, I came to college in order to allow myself a better and more option-filled future to do whatever it is that I decide to set my focus on. However, to obtain the right education and experiences to enable this, goals (both short-term and long-term) must be set. My short-term goals include making A’s in all of my courses this semester, securing an internship for the summer involving animals, and acing all of my chemistry 101 tests. As for my long-term goals, I want to get accepted into veterinary school, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPR as I get my undergraduate degree, and to positively impact others lives with my work.…
