I was around eight years old when I got lost and I was confused on what to do because I was taught to not talk to strangers. Therefor, I just walked around Target aimlessly looking for my mom. As a result an employee found me and asked if I lost my mom then I said nothing and walked away, but he kept following me so of course I started crying. Without talking to the person I assumed he was trying to hurt me because I was never taught that there were any good people in the world. During that day I learned that I need to use my own judgement to determine who is good or not. …show more content…

I was educated about the criminalization of the poor, amongst various topics exploring various degrees of political philosophy addressing reasons for poverty. Given my interest in housing issues in NYC, I was interested in understanding further sub issues within the topic of Housing. These courses began to make sense of what I have seen within my communities, but could not explain.…

To be caring means, “The work or practice of looking after those unable to care for themselves.” Two of the main people who have really taught me what means and what it looks like to be caring would be my mom, my dad, and my grandpa. They have always been a great influence to me by always encouraging me to try to be caring towards anyone and everyone, especially those in need. Their determination to be caring daily is what inspires me to strive to be the kindest, most caring person I can be. For example, my dad’s generosity towards anyone he sees who is in need and how they react when he tries his best to go out of his way and help them shows how effective it really is when people kind-heartedly help eachother out.…
