Narrative Essay On Job Shadow

I went on a job shadow with Sergeant Chuck Robinson of th Kossuth County Sheriffs Office. Chuck is the nighttime supervisor, which means he only works nights and is there to mostly help the other cops, if need be. The entire job shadow was a last minute ordeal as my original job shadow fell through because there was business and personal issues at Elbert Chevrolet that kept me from shadowing there and watching. But continued to make this shadow a valuable experience.
As I stated above I did my shadow with Chuck Robinson, which consisted of driving around the entire county in the police truck. We went as far north as the Minnesota border and as far south as St. Joesph. We had a few calls and things to do but it was a pretty quiet night on Friday. I actually started my evening being with Jack and his mentor, Keith Briggs, who is a deputy at the sheriffs office. I was only with him for a short period of the night because I had to go with someone else because I was taking up room in the back of the vehicle.
This job was one that I had originally wanted to go watch and do because it does have areas that could be attractive to any teenager who wants to have a job where it’s

Talking to Chuck, who was a slightly older gentlemen and very smart, really had a impact on me. We did not just talk about one or two things, we talked about everything you could think of, it was just like having a conversation with someone you have known for years and I had just met him. With all of the cop related accidents or shootings that have been happening all around the nation and internationally he shows what a officer is suppose to be like in my eyes. I would rate this about and 8.5-9 because it was pretty great to learn about all the stuff and then just have personal conversations about everything as well. (Plus, what else are you going to do at 11 at night when nothing is

Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

Life As a Domestic Servant During the late 19th century the Irish population within New York had significantly grown. Immigrants were forced to move from Ireland as a result of the great famine. As the city transitioned into Victorian values, the demand for female servants had increased. Most individuals classified domestic work as one of the lower status; however, it was the perfect job opportunity for an immigrant. Irish immigrants could easily find employment in American homes without any training or experience.…

I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…

The American dream wasn’t how it was described. Coming to America was overwhelming especially coming from a country where school is the only hope in life, went from being told there 's literally money growing on trees to staying in shelters was a disappointment but let 's start from the beginning. People say it’s hard to remember your young childhood but at five years old I, I remembered everything starting when I lived in Egypt with a single mom that had no family around in another foreign country to rise four children on her own not having a job living in a rundown one room apartment with five people, and two bed’s. I remember it like it was yesterday seeing my mom sitting in the living room on the cut up, scratched red brownish sofa…

In class a lot is learned about the different rankings, necessary education, and the court systems but talking to an officer gives you personal insight on what he has to go through in everyday life. You can hear how actually dangerous their jobs can be rather than just reading it. You can hear how much they want to keep their community safe rather than just hating them for giving you a speeding ticket. They tell you things they enjoy and dislike doing in their line of work and see how much action they actually have to deal with rather than just relying on stereotypes from movies. I have a new found respect for officers, for the ones who actually care and enjoy their line of work to better the community that they work…

Introduction Job training is fundamental to helping public assistance recipients and minimally skilled workers achieve lasting economic stability. With the majority of welfare recipients either unemployed or minimally employed, and recent “welfare-leavers” in low-wage positions with no benefits or skills, the notion of self-sufficiency is unreal. To that end, one strategy to address this facet of the poverty issue is the adoption of workforce development initiatives. Factual Background The 1980’s and 1990’s saw an increase to productivity and income growth as compared to the lull of the 1970’s.…

Whenever, I needed help, other employees wouldn’t mind helping me out. There were a large number of people working there who were immigrants but no one was racist towards anyone. Everyone worked together and treated each other like a family so that helped me to be comfortable working with them. The workplace was always very clean, which also created a nice environment around me to focus on my work. That’s really a good thing because a nice working environment keeps me safe, healthy, and gives me more energy to do my work.…
