During the adapted sports night there were a variety of things that I recognized and learned. One thing was when I spoke to young lady who had cerebral palsy. She explained how the sport of adapted track was divided into different levels based on severity of the disability. When she was explaining it I immediately thought back to what I read in the text and the discussion about different playing levels in class. In addition, I was able to discuss the different disabilities each individual had. KIN360 has taught me so much more than adapted sports and inclusion. I have learned the significances in different disabilities and how to interact with people who have certain disabilities. I met a wide spectrum of athletes with different disabilities such as cerebral palsy, amputations, and visual impairments.

I have learned through both of my ASL experiences that they all have their own hobbies and interests. I can use knowledge I have on different adapted sports and activities to bring me closer to my patients. Being able to have a conversation with a patient about something we are both knowledgeable will only make us closer. If I don’t know much about their hobby or sport, I have also learned through ASL to ask questions because if I don’t then there is no other way I can grow in the field of disability
