Throughout the majority of middle school and the entirety of high school, I always saw myself moving away and attending a four year university. For many years, Indiana Wesleyan University was my school of choice. Being raised in a military family, the thought alone of going to college was a daunting one, since I would be the first member to embark on such a journey. None-the-less, as senior year rolled around, I was ready to pack my bags, move into a dorm, and leave any chances of a military career behind me… Little did I know that the Lord had dramatically different plans. Initially, I had little to no interest in the school. Attending would have meant continuing to live at home, which was the last thing I wanted after having been homeschooled for the prior 12 years. However, reality and common sense soon caught up to me. To reach my goal of graduating debt free, there was no way a “typical” college experience was in the cards for me. After coming to this realization, Grace College Indianapolis seemed like the most practical choice to start my journey towards a higher education, and little did I know the way God would use this …show more content…
Because of this, I suppose I would list humility as a strength of mine. Passionate, hard-working, organized, loyal, and honest are also strengths I would relate to my character. My challenges compose a rather extensive list, but for the sake of time, I will only list my most frequently occuring. Time management, discipline, money management, stewardship and obedience are all weaknesses I try to overcome daily. It is clear to see how my strengths have/will benefit me in college. Passion alone has helped me write many papers and perform many speeches about issues that strike a chord in my heart. Humility, honesty, and organization have played large roles in any instance where I had to work in a group setting. Unfortunately, my challenges have reared their ugly heads time and time again throughout my collegiate experience.
