My Senior Year Experience Essay

My Senior Year Experience The year we waited 3 long years for, being up before sun rise, hearing a jail bell every 54 minutes indicating that it was time for the next hell of a class to begin. Scary lunches you couldn’t really identify as Pizza. Having to repeat that day in and day out, until that last sweet sounding bell of the day that told you it’s now time to go home and take that meant to be 2 hour nap that ended being a 6 hour nap. Which in my case most of the time meant “No time to do homework, but let’s see what’s happening on Twitter” or “What’s new on Netflix”. At first I walked into Freshmen year saying “We are the top dogs” and “I can’t wait to be a senior”, which in a blink of an eye became a scary yet exciting reality. A loud …show more content…
I had to make up a new skit for the pep rallies, 2. When I could barely get myself to go to school, and 3. With each day that passed, it was slowly eating my up inside that I was going to be graduating June 6th, 2015. Friday night football games started off great, the loud screams and chants coming from our roaring stands, the sweat beating from my body, and the shortening of breathe. Everyday something new happened, rather it was a classmate and I getting in trouble so leaving early or even staying out later than my parents wanted me to, but it was okay because I was making and sharing memories with my group of friends that I …show more content…
Waking up the day of Graduation saying “This is it”, it wasn’t the end of my journey but a fresh start to my future, the hours I took to beat my face with the powering makeup, adjusting my blue cap to fit my large head, and putting the finishing touches on my gown, with the last zip I was then walking out the door and after about a 20 minute drive I was awaited the gates of the Expo Center. It was getting ready to start, the loud cheers filled the stadium, with the booming drums coming from the band. And after getting my named called and the claps and screams from not only my friends and family but a lot of my senior class I was excited that I finished my senior year with such an amazing family, from start to finish with the Graduating Class of

I didn’t get the chance to attend my graduation, but I was nonetheless overjoyed about this accomplishment. My graduation from college was a major success to me because both my parents did not get the chance to finish high school and I wanted to make them proud. I wanted them to see that I would not get distracted, I wanted them to see that regardless of our financial situation, I am able to remain focus and follow through with my promise to them, which was to graduate college. This accomplishment was important to me because I was the first in my family to attend and graduate college.…

From middle school to high school, band became a vital part of my life. It was all I knew, it was where I felt comfortable, and this was where I pratically began learning about my leadership skills. However, my curiousity grew when I was introduced to Class Council. I thought that there was no difference, and I naively thought that since I have been a part of a leadership role for about 4 years, everyone knows me, so I thought Class Council could not be so hard. I was terribly wrong.…

At school registration, just a few weeks before the starting of school, I made the decision to make the “graduation” cliff not as horrible or terrifying. That day I made the sudden decision to sign up for some honor classes and dual credit senior classes, only being a junior. (THE CALL) I knew the upcoming year was…

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

Senioritis and Post-High School Plans As fourth quarter begins, students across the high school are realizing that the school year is beginning to draw to a close. As it does every year, Senioritis is starting to make an appearance in the graduating class. Senioritis occurs in many seniors when they realize that in a few short months, they will have graduated high school and finished four of the hardest (but best) years of their life so far.…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

Since the first day, time has been flying really fast. Starting a fresh new day, meeting the same teachers and same old friends, I still cannot imagine that I am now a senior! In my senior year, there will definitely be a lot of challenges and obstacles for me to conquer, but I believe that as long as I do everything step by step, I can beat down the difficulties in this senior year. When I was in junior year, I often heard last year’s seniors told me how hard is it to come up with a senior project topic, and they kept on reminding me to start thinking of my topic and finding my mentors. Luckily, I had research method class last year, so I knew how to do my APA style references and I had many presentations experiences last year.…

Sophomore year has been an interesting year so far. The first day I walked into AP World History (aka WHAP) confident, but slightly nervous for the workload to come. We are going to be freshmen again. That’s right, freshmen: bottom of the food chain; inexperienced; grunt work monkeys et cetera. You get the idea. We started as freshmen here at NYU and have grinded our way to the top of the food chain as graduating seniors. We have learned about ourselves in the process, but have also been influenced by our environment to think a certain way and believe certain things.…

My previous work experience has exposed me to a variety of team dynamics and I would describe my exposure as very positive. My love for connecting with people has been a major factor in my overall employment success, such as, two management roles before reaching my twenty’s and also a fulfilling career in the financial industry for nine years. Working in a customer service role for the last 14 years I have faced struggles with communication, as well as developed positive skills to work effectively with others. One of the most essential elements I have learned from working as a Financial Advisor is how to build trust with people. I firmly believe this is key to any successful relationship, rather an employment relationship or otherwise.…
