Introduction
Life can get a little hectic and through all the craziness, there are always qualities we wish to improve. Since starting nursing school, I have realized there are many life style changes I need to adjust during this next stepping-stone. To start off, I have decided to write a self-care plan on how I want to relieve stress and better manage my time within the next three months. To help me improve on these two stressors in my life I will adhere to the SMART goal. Which seem to be a very useful tool in helping people work through their struggles and find ways to improve.
SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound hence the word SMART. Specific being that it explains exactly what I want to accomplish by answering the five W’s (who, what, where, when, and why). It is measurable to help me demonstrate and evaluate what goals I have met. Achievable meaning that it is in a range possible for me to reach, not something way beyond what I am

I feel like I never have enough time to get things done and especially now since starting nursing school I do not know how to balance my time efficiently. Knowing how to manage time is important because it helps to reduce time and energy. It also allows people to be more productive and accomplish personal and professional goals. It is healthy for a person because it creates a life balance and helps to stay motivated. The downfall to poor time management is that it can lead to stress, fatigue, and cause bad moods (El-Shaer, 2015, p. 18). That is why my self-care plan involves creating a time management goal. I will work on better managing my time by planning a calendar to see what I need to have done and when. I will track my progress by crossing agenda goals off the calendar as I reach them and evaluate what I need to change when I do not reach them. I will do this for the next three
