My second-weakest action imperative is Create. I scored the lowest on Implementing and Sustaining Change with a mean score of 2.2. Since I am not in a management position, I am unable to implement and sustain change in my organization. However, I do make suggestions to my supervisor if I see that a process can be more efficient. I also need improvement in Championing and Selling New Ideas since I scored a 3.2. For instance, I do not have the ability to start programs in my organization due to my current position. In general, I am not a competitive person. I focus more on collaborating with others to help everyone succeed. The lowest score I received from a competency was 1 in Designing and Organizing. As I mentioned earlier, I am not in a management position so I am unable to apply the concepts of division of labor and specialization to improve performance. In Setting Goals and Objectives, I have also received a low mean score with 1.6. Although I have my own personal goals and objectives, I do not have the ability to set goals and objectives for others in order to distinguish the priorities of an organizational unit. I scored a 2.4 in Developing and Communicating a Vision. I am not familiar with creating a vision in my organization. I do follow the existing vision for the County of San Diego, which is to create healthy, safe, and thriving communities. I scored a 3.4 in Motivating Self and others.
