In terms of body position, each student did not properly align the body and shoulders to their target. It was a simple fix, and a reminder is all that was needed. However, if a student was to struggle with this concept I could have broken this down more with demonstrations and more in depth instructions to help the student gain a better understanding. The first clear cut negative is very similar to my micro teaching in terms of teaching more to a sport than a skill. While I use terms like sending and throwing it is clear I am only talking about throwing the football. I only mention the ability to transfer these sending skills once and for a matter of only 7 seconds. It is important for my future as a teacher that I move past teaching for a sport and really focus on the skills and how they can transfer to everyday movements. This can be accomplished with time and knowledge. As I develop as a teacher the more I will learn on how to create a proper lesson plan that works on incorporating transferable skills. The next negative in my video would be the lack of exercises and build up to the final …show more content…
I can see room for improvement but can also see hope in the future as a physical education teacher. Throughout the two videos, I speak with a loud voice. However, I tend to speak very monotone and lack enthusiasm. I am certain that with more practice teaching and improved confidence in myself I will be able step outside my comfort zone I will find a loud, clear, and passionate voice. I made it a point to direct my speaking to the students and not the camera in each video. I stated my introductions in each video to the camera and after that it was just me and the student(s) face to face. This allows me to engage with my students, observe, and make sure each student has a firm understanding of the concepts being taught. In the first video I lacked activities to work on performance cues as I worked up the progression. Twice during the second video I was able to break down the performance cues and implement a basic activity to help the student gain a better understanding of the movement. Being able to move past a sport and onto a skill is another big jump for me, as I implemented a variety of balls and explained situations in which the skill would be unique to each ball. This is important as I develop as a teacher because understanding the concept such as receiving and being able to transfer it into a variety of sports will help the students pick up sports much easier. One thing I noticed throughout both
