My Second Job

After completing one year of college, I moved on to work and then getting marriage and raising children. In sixteen years, I had only worked at two jobs which I personally loved. I got hired as the administrative assistant in the optometry office. The other is the civil and structural engineering firm that hired me as the design technician. For both offices, I had worked closely with my coworkers to deliver the products that meet the needs of the customers. At the optometry office, I helped office members organize the patients’ files and to answer the phone.
When the office was crowded, I patiently called healthcare insurance to verify their vision care and explained their coverages, assisted them to fill out the check-up form, and had them on a visual field test before the optometrist do the examination for their eyes. After the patient’s eyes had checked, either they want me to help them choosing frames for their glasses or teaching them how to wear the contact lenses. In the lab, I assisted the technician to adjust customers’ glasses after the lenses had been mounted in the frame. If customers need to repair for their glasses, I would

This company, specializing in civil and structural engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, urban design, and district management services. As a design technician, I helped the engineers draft the details, prepared a proposal exhibit for the weekly meeting, finalize a plan and design projects. I sometimes visited the job site where a construction project is taking place, to collect or test materials or observe the project. I mostly worked on Caltrans’ projects because I was familiar with its’ project approval and delivery process.
