My Scle Project

My SCLE project was on learning how to craft a headband by scratch. One of the hardest things was finding the materials to do my project. I had started with cloth as the headband part but found elastic would be better for various sizes of heads. Sewing has always interested me I just have never found time to do it being involved in several activities in high school. College has given me more time to be involved in activities I have always wanted to try. I had some knowledge on how to sew from helping my grandma’s when I was young. I self-taught myself through the internet by watching several videos and reading articles on how to make headbands. I learned several sewing techniques and also learned several ways to attach the embellishments. I also learned different ways to decorate the headbands along …show more content…
Many babies that are born in these hospitals are not planned and can either be premature or have some other complications. My goal at the beginning was to make 30-40 headbands to make my project successful. I feel I accomplished my goal and plan on making this a hobby of mine. I may also venture out and do other sewing projects to test my skills. I find it very important to give back to the community that has raised you to become the person you are and that is why I chose to give them back to return the favor.
If I could do my SCLE Project over again I would’ve planned it better with my schedule so I could have gotten more done. If I also lived closer to home I would have used my grandma and her knowledge of sewing to help me with my project. I’m sure she would have lots of tips and tricks that could have sped up the process so I could have gotten more done. It is also important to have different perspectives on projects and I know she could also help me with this. I would also like to learn how to craft the flower part of the headband from cloth, I just did not have
