Reflective Essay: A Scholarship For My Future

Improved Essays
I know many people need this scholarship more than I do; they have it a lot harder than I do. However in my eyes, getting this scholarship is not for me. It is truly for my daughter’s future. I made the selfish decision to have a child young. That is when I took leadership in my life to sure that she will live in comfort and not worry about where the next meal will come from, or if she will live in a car or a shelter. I’m doing this all for her. She will always come first over me.

I have faced many challenges in my life that no child or person should have to. I was born in 1998 with my sister being born in 1994 we have the same mom and dad, but our dad put us in emotional, in some rare cases physical trauma. He has appeared in and out of our

Some say it is my weakness, but I see it as my strength. At times where I have helped people and they abused my help I see how it was my weakness. The times where people abused my help, it took me awhile to realize they don’t deserve my help or they need other of a higher ground. I look into the situation a lot more before I dive in. I learned that my help is strength of who I am. It makes me feel amazing when i help somebody who truly needs it; like I had this costumers who are regulars at our store. Just by looking at them and what 's in their cart, they don 't get much of what they want but really of what they need to survive. I noticed they really wanted have a dessert but they couldn 't afford it. So walk up to them and kindly ask if I can buy them the dessert. They denied, but I asked again and that 's when they accepted. The look on their face when they accepted of me buying them a simple little dessert made my whole day as well as theirs. It is the little things that can brighten days and ensure that their is good people in the world. Moments like that make me extremely happy on who i have …show more content…
If it all works out I will try my hardest to work myself up to an administrator in a hospital or nursing home. I want to do this because I want to help people. The one thing my mom taught me is that make sure to help others before you help yourself. I really want to be in health facilities because of my sister. My sister has this disease that cost her lot of money. When she went the hospitals or insurances offices for help of payments they simply said no without giving her a chance. I believe everyone deserves a chance. It is a hard world out there, growing up the way I did it really made me to become a caring person. With being a caring person I will use my critical thinking/ideas and find ways to help people in need. I want to help everyone as much as possible. That is my life goal, to help everyone when somebody else shut the door in their face. I want to do all things possible to give my daughter the best life. I don’t want her to go through things I or my siblings had to go through. From that, I have been applying to get scholarships in order to get into an amazing college without worrying about the outcome that comes with college, debt. I am hoping to go to Metropolitan Community College, I hope to do my degree choice online, because when I graduate I 'm trying my best to achieve a full time job. And show her, that there is happy ever afters in real

I also decided that this was what I want to do for the rest of my life; I want to help people on the outside to mend the inside. In addition, the advanced math and science involved in being an anesthesiologist greatly influenced my decision, as I am extremely passionate about both subjects. This path seems perfect for me and what I want to accomplish. I hope that someday I will be able to help someone as much as that CRNA helped my mom. I hope that someday I will change the lives of people who are in pain.…

The Grades Challenge Freshman year was a difficult year for my grades. I was failing a few classes and it seemed like the harder I focused on the percentage, the farther I got away from it. I talked to my teachers about how I could try to get my grades up and was simply told “you won’t get a better grade.” I was stuck with what I had is what I was told, and they ended up being right about that year. I was worried that maybe something was wrong; maybe I wasn’t as smart as I used to be.…

The College of Wooster appeals to me because of the offered majors and the ability to do mentored undergraduate research. I am not sure what I would like to do in my future, but I know that The College of Wooster can help me find my place in life. I came to know about The College of Wooster while I was visiting Ohio with my father. We stayed in Cleveland and drove to Columbus and Cincinnati; along the way we passed Wooster, and saw a sign for The College of Wooster, so I decided to do some research on my smartphone. As I read more about The College of Wooster, I found that it appealed to me in many ways.…

I left high school tired and confused. Having my whole life desired one thing and pursued one love – a love for the art and science of literature, for inkblots on bare paper, for the destruction of the pristine with the flawed beauty of the written word – I was wasted, rendered exhausted by the pressures under which I forced myself to toil for four long years. I had lost my way, stumbling off a path I once knew so well, weighed down by my wide array of interests, terrified to commit to one and be glued to it, riddled with regret, for the rest of my life. Feeling trapped, I regarded the list of schools to which I had been accepted, selected one I believed covered all bases, and, throwing up my hands, I entered undeclared.…

Three years into my high school I hadn't gotten into the state of mind that most over achievers have. I had floated through high school thinking I was trying my very hardest to get good grades and become a consistently studious candidate of my school. However, no matter how hard I tried I failed I gave into all the distractions and used all my obstacles as excuses became frustrated and developed an attitude problem that I had created myself. Being a consistent 2.5 student wasn't satisfying or inspiring. Uniquely enough, I had decided to take challenging courses my junior year.…

English 2010 has been a learning experience for me, I've been able to learn a lot about english that I did not know or work on before. With the first essay that we worked on I did a memoir I really enjoyed working on this paper, In class we were able to get freedom to add pictures to are pictures make it a little bit more creative I certainly was not used to this; I’ve been told my whole schooling experience that you have the intro and the conclusion and three body paragraphs. The memoir I was able to write to what I felt like I needed it to be, add pictures so it could appeal more to the eye when reading and also made it easier.…

When I was young I was never the best at reading even though my parents owned many books and magazines that they read on a daily basis. My mother enjoyed reading her gossip magazines that she would receive in the mail once a month and my father had a whole bookshelf full of history books. My parents would always encourage me to read the books I would check out at the school library to improve my reading and writing but that advice usually went in through one ear and out the other. The only books I would really attempt to read had to be humorous or horrifying, my favorites were the Goosebumps collection. I loved reading these books alone in my room where I couldn’t be sidetracked by all the commotion that went on in my house.…
