STORY COMMENTS ON FIRST 30 PAGES

MY SANTA HERO is a sweet title for this family friendly holiday tale. The first 30 pages clearly defines the goal of saving Christmas, his family, and winning a million dollars. The emotional goal is trying to impress his young daughter.
The idea of saving Christmas isn’t considered highly unique, but it’s a tried and true holiday concept that will always be enjoyable. The idea of a competition for the role of Santa, however, is a lot of fun. One can easily emotionally engage to the idea.
The first 30 pages presents with plenty of strengths. The

It appears that everyone accepts that there’s a real Santa Claus. One has to wonder if that’s the right story choice or if the contest should just be a Santa contest (that’s rigged) and then Penny finds the real Santa (who is hurt or gets hurt in the third act, forcing Rit to really save Christmas), but Penny doesn’t believe him. The real Santa convinces her that he’s real (lie detector test) and together they help her father. Maybe they discover that one of the other contestants is a plant working for Nicklepinch and is rigged to win.
With that said, there’s nothing wrong with a world in which Santa is real, but normally part of the magic is making others believe.
The dialogue clearly reflects each character’s personality. The opening dialogue sounds a bit weak and on the nose.
Consider the comedy style. The opening scene feels a bit cartoonish versus based on reality. Just be careful of making characters feel too exaggerated. The fantasy element may or may not work. However, it is fun to see Angie as a witch. It perfectly fits her persona. There’s also a funny twist when it’s revealed that George is Rit’s father.
Thus, the first 30 pages do a good job of hooking the

Most people believe “El Chupacabra” is a myth while others don't. Although many have claimed that they have seen it, they don’t have proof. It may just be some stray dog, or canine-type creature. One of the pieces of evidence goes something like this "It can change colors at will, has a hairy, reptilian body with spines all along its back and an obsession with blood. El Chupacabra translated into English means "the goat-sucker," because that's exactly what it does.…

Hernando de Soto stated that capital is like energy and that it is a dormant value. However, we know how to create energy like burning wood in stove produces energy in the form of heat to cook food, boil water, or warm a home. The same cannot be said with capital. We have a pretty good idea what it is, but we are not as good at turning capital into economic potential. De Soto also defines capital as the parallel life of an asset.…

Based on what I read, Scrooge sounds like an old grumpy, greedy, disrespectful man. According to the text it states that, he is grumpy and very hard to handle. Also, the text states that he doesn't really care about a plethora of things like Christmas because he does not get the point of Christmas. On page one, the author describes how he was exceedingly rude to a boy who shows up asking for any donations for the poor, but Scrooge tells him to leave, and argues that anyone who is poor can either go to jail, or go to the workhouse.…

I believe that instead of a psychoanalytic point of view, it is more of a Marxist point of view. I do not believe that it is his dream to be accepted by the Whos. I believe that by his lack of wealth, he isolated himself. I don’t believe that he is facing a difficult time in order to be accepted by the Whos, rather he is of lower class and he thought that he needed more materialistic things to be like the others. Thus, providing evidence of Marxist Critisim.…

    A Christmas Carol Critique

The setting, lights, costuming, and actors worked cohesively to project a beautiful and whimsical adaption of Charles Dickens story. However, in my opinion, the most enjoyable aspect of my Friday night was the life lesson I grasped from sitting in the third row, investing myself in the storyline and the themes engraved deep in the script. A Christmas Carol, yet fun and lighthearted, was also courageously satirical for today’s politics, teaching society a valuable lesson about the responsibility of each man; to help those less fortunate with the fortune you…
