The poem that relate to me is the poem “My ruin” by Jim Carroll. The poem talks about love/ trusted relationship that turned into breakup and the speaker not wanting the ended relationship to ruin him instead he is moving forward. The poem relate to me in the sense that I have also being in a very secured relationship at a young age that I gave it my all but ended up in heartbreak which made me at first hate women after this happened but at the end I didn’t let that ruin me and I found inner peace within myself.
One of the statement the speaker made “You are not going get to me you are never going to be with me as once was” (12). This statement really talked about my relationship because after the relationship ended I was broken and felt hopeless

The difference was that I never wrote a poem but kept pictorial memories of every minute we spent together on my phone which at anytime I look at it instead of what the speaker says happens to him the reverse happens to me I get so hurt and mad. The speaker said he relived every moment of they were together but mine was reverse I feel so much pain, anger questioning myself am I not good enough.
In the sixth stanza, the speaker said “is not a lie I’m glad you are at peace but everything you know leads to ruins” (24). This stanza speaks a lot about my relationship after I found peace with all that has happened and I move on I forgave her but still all my secrets and truth I told her I felt scared that she may spill it if she see me with a different girl and she is jealous, she may spill my truth and ruin my new relationship but I was happy she was happy with the new guy she was dating.
In conclusion, the poem relate to my life in some certain scenarios and also it was vice versa in some but in all as the speaker of the poem found peace I also found peace but it took time and also as the speaker was glad the one he love was at peace the same applied to me. And lastly, I try to fix myself from all the bitterness and sorrow that the relationship has caused

Do you think that the way we grow up has a lasting effect on us? The things we go through and are surrounded by as children will shape our personality and how we deal with things? The underlying theme of these poems is a very deep and difficult subject to talk about, the breakage of a person and of a friendship. The way we deal with our past make us who we are, but how much can a person handle before they break? Stuart broke, Jackson was broken by Stuarts suicide attempt because he didn't know how to react to it, and these poems purpose an idea that we should handle suicide differently because, a suicide effects not only the person but the people around them, it breaks them.…

For my project I chose to read Where the Birds Never Sing and to write a poem about it. Poems are very interesting to me, because a poem can be a short piece of work that holds so much meaning. So, I decided to write a poem of my own: “From Peace to Grief and Back Again”, to show the events of my novel. We had to write it in Sonnet form, so that means an “ABAB” rhyming pattern with ten syllables per line, and fourteen lines.…

Papa Roach’s song Scars talks about is about putting yourself out there even though you’ve been hurt and having someone use you and never take the blame. The speaker is saying that he continuously hurts himself to save the other and he cannot prevent the pain because he is just naturally a compassionate man although the downfall of others drag him down as well. “Scars” carries the theme that at some point sacrifice can be too much and you can’t always save everyone or they can drag you with them. In the lines, “I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut, My weakness is that I care too much, And our scars remind us the past is real,”(Shaddix 13-15) the theme is shown to the listener that this person has suffered many injuries, emotionally speaking, and cares too much about people that only bring him pain and more injury.…

As I was reading, “The Cult in You’re in” by Kalle Lasn In the introduction it gave a brief description of the power his work had and the culture critic that he is also known for. I was able to see all the persuasive strategies he used in the piece of work. He really wants to get his point across and wants people to see how their lives have be formed by the advertising on T.V “We have been recruited into roles and behavior patterns we did not consciously choose.”(Lasn).…

The composer romanticises ideas of motherhood throughout this poem and expresses the hardships experienced. Her childhood home was a place of stories and songs, recounted to her by her mother and grandmother and her childhood had a pivotal effect on her writing. Everything she writes about has been infused with the radiance of those days in Brisbane growing up through the 1980s. The poem is about a daughter who has just faced the death of her mother.…

Although they each have these dark feelings associated with them, they are portrayed in very different ways. As previously stated, “What I Did Wrong” is very up front and in your face about a lot of abusive events that previously occurred. Whereas “Poem of Regret for an Old Friend” is much more laid back and recalling memories in a very sorrow filled way. Even though these poems have different ways of approaching the idea of what is going on, they both leave you wondering at the end of the poem by either asking a question like in “What I Did Wrong”, or they leave you with a dark meaning like in “Poem of Regret for an Old…

As people, we thrive on relationships with others. However many may agree that bringing down friendships takes much less effort than building them up. One harsh word or bitter action, and the friendship ends. In his song titled “I Want to Say I 'm Sorry,” Andrew Peterson covers this very theme. This song takes the form of an apology, and with it he expresses the sorrow of an argument which separated him and a close friend, and yet gives hope at the end.…

    The Victims Poem Analysis

Upon initial reading, “The Victims” by Sharon Olds seems to be a poem that paints the picture of a life of abuse; starting from the dawning of the exploitation and arching over into the life of the abused following the maltreatment. In the work, it is made to be believed that the clear victims of the poem are the speaker and their family—which is a rightful and obvious assumption—but there is another victim that is not as prevalent as that of the speaker and their family: the speaker’s father. After a second read, it is made evidently apparent that although the work does focus on the speaker and their family as the victims of the poem, the ideal that the father is also a victim is explored. Since the father is depicted as an abuser, it is seen…
