My Rudimentary Invigilation Experience

Decent Essays
Hi,

I’m a student finishing year 12 at the Victorian College of The Arts Secondary School, with my practice revolving around photography and sculpture. I currently have some free time and thought I should use it doing something that would contribute to my practice. I am highly involved in contemporary art, and the discussion which surround it. I am well spoken and always open to interesting discussions that fuel my fascination.

I have some rudimentary invigilation experience, notably sitting exhibitions at The Student Gallery (VCA), and George Paton Gallery (University of Melbourne). This included: install/deinstall, opening night preparations, and invigilation. I have also been heavily involved in many of my friends installations at galleries

"Ai Weiwei: Without Fear or Favor." My artistic talent, in comparison to past classmates and relatives, has always been overshadowed so subsequently I had little desire to develop whatever talents I did possess. Notwithstanding, I’ve always wanted to be able to sculpt, paint, and draw with the same ease and beauty those past friends and teachers had shown. Moreover, I’ve always enjoyed museums and art galleries or anything that enhances my overall knowledge in various cultures and their histories. Furthermore, I love to travel and I feel that an environmental submersion into a culture’s art and history can provide an increased appreciation for their diversity altogether.…

The vast spectrum of knowledge, skills obtained, and experiences from a college degree more than compensates for the monetary cost of tuition. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Although I am not certain of my specific career path, I hope setting aside time for graduate study will support me in solidifying my passions and finding my purpose. However, in essence I wish to support and facilitate the magic of museums. I am moved by the times I was struck with awe looking at a dinosaur replica as a child, excited by stone tools from ancient societies as a teenager, or inspired by an artist’s dynamic brushstrokes as an adult. I want to internalize these experiences and connections, using my work to recreate them for others. Allowing visitors to forge unique memories while inspiring wonder is my ultimate…
