But, bribes and threats are wrong, they seem to undermine the ideas of a safe classroom. It is my goal as a teacher to try to help students discipline themselves, ultimately that would be the best classroom, but I as a teacher will have to assure that students follow rules to ensure a safe environment. I believe that every good school has its own set of rules, but a classrooms that somewhat have freedom to choose your own management practices sound good to me. I would like my classroom’s lay out to be in groups of four or five students, I believe it is always good for students to do group work, it can help with collaboration. I will try to have a comfortable reading area because; it will encourage students to read, any sort of reading is good for students. I wish to use a lot of technology in my instruction; I would love to have a smart board to have interactive activities with the students. I will also try to make my room look bright and inviting: I believe that a plain room is boring, and you do not want to bore your students.
My classroom will have a set standard of rules, besides the rules that are put in place by the school. My first rule is no late work; I believe this prepares them for any sort of job and life in general. The only time I will bend the rule is to make accommodations for students with 504 plans or IEPs I will offer plenty of make up opportunities to replace the grade.
