For centuries, WE have been belittled of our capabilities. WE have been undermined by societal norms and traditions. But this does not have a place in the 21st century. WE will rise up, as women, women of every color, women of every shape, women of every faith, and come in solidarity. The future is female, and no one will be able to erase that image away. January 21, 2017, became a historic day, in which the Women’s March bolstered bravery and spirits of defiance. This embedded hope into me as I remembered a time of my resilience. Badminton, a sport that’s special in my heart, became the the key to my courage. I was a 9th grader and my school had a badminton tournament but I had no partner.
