My Religion Influenced My Perceptions Of Who I Am

Many influences in my life have shaped and built me into what I am today. Influences from family, friends, teachers, pastors, etc who all have contributed to my life in one way or another. Self-concept is your overall perception of who you are. Self-concept is influenced by many factors, such as your own experiences and relationships, beliefs, attitudes, and values you have about yourself. Whether you have your self-concept completely figured out or not, as in my case I believe I am still working on myself. Everyone is unique and made of different dimensions, there are many dimensions of self for example, real self, perceived self, professional self, private self, emotional self and so on. In order to determine your self-concept you have to look deep into yourself and look at everything that has transformed you into who you are today. Since I knew what religion was, I have been a Catholic. I believe my faith has helped me grow and mature more as a person. My religion influences my spiritual self-concept. Spiritually my religion has helped me out to learn who I am and to help me better myself. I believe my religion has helped me become a better person and has helped me to realize to spread kindness to others always and to learn to forgive and forget those who have hurt me. It has given me morals and values set up for myself that I strongly believe will benefit my future in many ways. Growing in my faith has helped me to be happier and to learn that I am honestly blessed to live the life I live, to see that it’s not a bad life and how I really have it better than a lot of people in this world. My faith is still improving but I know that I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for my religion. I will always be thankful for the people along the way who have helped me to grow in my path of
