Hindu Reflection

This class has been been one of the more interesting ones I 've taken between the Facebook posts from classmates with different life stories and experiences to some very interesting chapters in the textbook. I really liked that we had one girl that was from a completely different walk of life as an Orthodox Hindu. Sometimes it’s crazy to think that others live an entirely different life with their customs and we all live among each other. It was also nice seeing how good I 've really had things over the years from experiences with my family, religion, and even that I have my grandparents where I see many have grown up without that presence. There were certain chapters in the book that I found especially interesting. Chapter one stood out …show more content…
One of those stated myths is about how opposites do not, in fact, attract. My boyfriend and I prove the book’s theory on this completely wrong. I don’t know how we do it because we are so different but I have never been able to come out of my shell as much as I can with him. I’m very tightly wound and he isn’t which has helped me tremendously. I also think people really do marry for love more than the book implies. I understand that they say people get married out of fear, need for a approval, or for the sexual side of things but I don 't think that is necessarily the whole truth. While I agree that may be part of it in some cases, I don’t necessarily believe that’s all there is to it. Starting at the end of 2014, I wen’t through one of the hardest times of my life emotionally with my boyfriend where after a few really difficult months, he broke my heart after almost three years and was sexually involved with another girl the next day. I made some mistakes trying to make myself feel better in the few days that followed that opened my eyes to a few things. One of those things I learned is that there are so many great people out there that I really loved getting to know in the process of trying to move on. A few

A lot of times, all people need is to understand each other, which is why I feel as though looking at communication through the interpretive approach would be the most successful in dating relationships. A lot of relationships with great potential end because of lack of communication and understanding. Earlier, I talked about how one of my ex-boyfriends was really adamant about believing that I did not care about the relationship, when in all actuality, he just did not understand how I carried myself or where I was coming from on solving issues. Also, I must take fault, because I did not take much time to understand his feelings. As I said, he was much more sensitive than I was, and I never really could figure out how to deal with it, so maybe that was why, to him, I always seemed distant and withdrawn, when really I just did not fully understand how to communicate with him…

As much as it will help live out emotionally successful lives, love, in the end, is all but an emotion. It will be hard for some people to understand and go through this “post-romantic theory.” From my personal experience, there were many people that I thought would have been the perfect partner for someone, however, they just did not feel the emotional connection to me whatsoever. I care a great deal about this topic because love has been a huge part of my life. I have thought this way about Romanticism before, and from my experience, it doesn’t work because the emotion always gets in the…

Gatsby’s view on marriage was like a typical romance movie, and living happily ever after. Nick Carraway, the narrator, seemed to be indifferent about marriage. He saw what was going on in all of the relationships showed in the story and even claimed that he “had no intention of being rumored into marriage”. In the story he seemed to have a small romance with Jordan Baker, but in the end they seemed to not get along very well, due to their different social classes and personalities. That seems to be the scenario in many of the relationships in the novel, when social classes mix up it doesn’t seem to work out, or just money is the issue.…

Marriage is grueling work and without a strong commitment, it does not stand a chance. Separations often occur due to one or both partners being unable or unwilling to work on changing themselves in order to improve their marriage. When you ask a divorced individual why they did it, the answer will never be that they filed a divorce as a result of their spouse being an excellent communicator and was too trustworthy. A large amount of spouses expects their partners to be able to read their mind or predict what they want without communicating. Due to the lack of communication the couples have, once in a while even the smallest misunderstandings end up in…

Neither of them liked the pressure that their mother was putting on them to marry, but they both waited. Their father Mr. Bennet didn’t quite speak on situations (lack of patriarchalism) in the household, but it was easy to tell that he was more on the “whatever makes them happy”. The Bennets’ household was pretty much matriarchal though they had both a mother and father. During this time marriage was heavily placed on women because a woman being single had no worth. Jane Austen used this novel to describe what type of impact marriage had on women during her time and to show women today how different time…

    Meaning Of Family

The part of my research I found most effective to myself was talking about the meaning of family to my mother. Hers stood out in one way because she started having a family so young, like I mentioned earlier, and her story just made her and I both really emotional and was in a way, her teaching me a life lesson. I would describe my experience over all for this experiment/research as truly eye opening. If I didn’t have the family that I have, I would not be who I am today. I know from time to time I can be a handful to my parents, and I realized they do so much more for me than I have ever noticed, so this had given me a much deeper appreciation for them that I should have had all along.…

She had done a lot of research, and came up with a sentence that she thought was her own. In reality, it was something she had read earlier and forgotten about. She was almost kicked out, but saved by a professor who knew that she would never break character like that. This happened to my English teacher's college friend; she was accused of plagiarism when, in reality, it was all accidental. She had done a lot of research, and came up with a sentence that she thought was her own.…
