It is inspiring to serve others because they only grow stronger and have the fire within themselves to serve others. When I stepped down as household head, there was someone that took my place. It was an affirmation to my service and how I was able to pastor to them. On the other hand, the role of a mission volunteer is different. Instead of serving others, your role is to make sure everyone is on track. Your role is usually “behind the scenes.” MV’s are not needed for household heads, but more for bigger events like regional events or conferences. I am not a MV yet, but I know the brothers and sisters that are MV’s and I know they are a blessing to the community because they are the ones that work with other upper leaders in the community. The MV’s have to contact a lot of people like the area heads and parent coordinators to make sure they are all on the same page. MV’s help the service team whether it would with music ministry, logistics, and visuals. Music ministry has to set up the mics, mic stands, and tune instruments. From what parent coordinators said, they have not had a joining camp in two years. I was shocked, but I was honored to be a witness that weekend. Prior to camp, one of the leaders asked me to serve for music ministry. I was so excited and I gave my definite yes! I have not served in a while, so it was definitely something that I needed. Overall, the camp was successful and very spirt-led. I was in a new environment, but it was a realization that YFL-WA is another home for me. There was not that much people on service team, but it went from 6 members to 21 members. I was impressed how the brothers and sisters served. They are young, but they have so much passion. It was a long time coming. The service team was creative and it was easy for the participants to get along and be open with each other. It was crazy how the participants were so open to having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, it was great to see some of the “oldies” come back and oversee. That weekend consisted a lot of healing and peace, and it was a blessing to be a
