You know when you are watching a movie and the main character is strapped to a bomb; you know they won’t die but you can’t help but feel your palms sweat. Well, that has been my experience with writing so far. Hilarious or odd way of describing my relationship with writing I know. This essay stands out in my mind because of its relatable topic; pretty much everyone at some point or another has struggled with writing, whether they care to admit it or not. Lamott realizes this, which spurred her on to trying to help audiences to realize that no one writes perfectly at first, and that brainstorming by write without caring inevitably breeds perfection. First drafts, as Lamott reveals, are “The child’s draft, where you let it all pour out and then let it romp all over the place, knowing that not one is going to see it and that you can shape it later” (222). For instance, whenever a person starts a new writing, thousands of thoughts and words are echoing through their heads. Not knowing where to begin or what to first write down.…

The first one is make sure a verb agrees with its subject. For example, If I saw, “the list of books are on the desk,” I would probably think it was correct. However, I know that the verb does not match with its subject, so are should change to is. Another writing error I’m not very good at is creating introductions that grab a reader's’ attention. I find it hard to write a relatable introduction paragraph that a reader would enjoy and keep reading.…
