From there once I have a better understanding of my topic I just start writing and not stop till I have written down everything I can think about the topic. Once my rough draft is complete I read it to see where I need to do more research to back up my thoughts and correct any spelling. Finally, the final step in my process it to write my final copy. I insure all the information is added that needed for information to back up and my spelling and grammar is correct. The environments I like to be in when I am writing a paper is to be in the library or a coffee house. I always like to start my paper in the library so I can check out books and other things that will help me write my paper. And a coffee house like Starbucks is a good environment for me to write my rough draft and final copy because not only does the place help me relax but they sale coffee that energies me to finish what I started. As a senior at TCPS, I am currently taking my second dual-enrollment college course, comp one. Before this college level writing course, I thought I had the skill of writing papers mastered. Throughout grade school, writing a paper in a few hours was easily achievable and was the general thing to do. My peers and I easily wrote papers without effort and made good grades. Throughout the course of the semester, my ability as a writer has increased at a slight level. The semester began on a rough patch with my initial submission of assignment one, but that was quickly resolved in my revisions. Since that point, my grades have been relatively similar. I would accredit this improvement to the feedback I received on the first assignment, although some of my faults could be seen in the next assignment as well. Since that point, however, my writing has been relatively consistent.…

Knowing I had to aim for a different audience this time around really affected my writing. When my tone for the original paper was rather informal and even somewhat fun, now I had to write for the APA, a group of people who take this line of work very seriously (as they should). Due to this, I gave my arguments a more serious tone, and I even expanded my vocabulary a bit to give a good impression. If I want the APA to listen to me, I should write in a tone they would use. I was careful about the sources I used for this.…

If I was writing a paper that required a specific number of paragraphs or pages I would typically plan my paper using the four square method. If I was writing an important paper I would write a rough draft, then as I was typing it I would revise it and fix any mistakes I found. One thing that remained consistent in my writing process, no matter the type of paper, is after I wrote the paper I would try to find more grade level appropriate words instead of the simple words I originally used. While writing essays for this class I came to find it is better to combine my writing processes to write the best possible essay I could. I found the best steps for me to take in writing my paper are to write my ideas down in some form.…

Comments: Reading the first assigned reading sections of, "The Bedford Guide for College Writers", has already given me ideas of how to improve different writing strategies and techniques that can be difficult in writing college papers. Chapter one helps explain the process of writing of generating ideas, processing ideas, and the steps to constructing a good paper (6-15). For me, this is one of my struggles I have with writing. I tend to write in one sitting, rather than taking time between the steps of; planning, drafting, developing, revising, editing and proofreading. Doing this, I find that my planning strategy is not the best it could potentially be.…

The writing process is different and unique to all individuals; many people follow the ideal steps of prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing as opposed to others taking shortcuts, skipping steps, and going straight to editing. The writing process is the course one takes to get from prewriting to the publication of their essay; since everyone is a different, their writing process will also be different. For me, I believe that following the ideal writing process steps are a tremendous help to organizing my essay and spacing out the work throughout the time the assignment is assigned. To begin writing an essay I must first prewrite; to prewrite is to brainstorm ideas from the prompt by outlining, diagramming, clusterings, or…

After all, most of people like biographies much more than academic reports. You should know, readers, as a writer, I have an obvious difference from others.
