On the morning of July 13, 2016 I was on my way to HCC for Summer classes when this accident occurred. Proceeding up Linden St in Holyoke, Mass after crossing the Muller bridge from So. Hadley, I stopped at two traffic lights, then stopped at 2 four way stop intersections, Cabot and Linden and Hampshire and Linden streets. There are no signs indicating these are 4 way stop intersections. The next intersection is Sargent and Linden st, a 3 way stop intersection, with a sign indicating 3 way stop. Next is Linden and W Franklin sts, a 2 way stop intersection, which I mistakenly thought was another 4 way stop intersection. I looked both directions not seeing any oncoming vehicles I proceed into the intersection. The vehicle approaching from

Mannhardt told me that he was traveling West on East Clark street; he then said that he thought that he was in the intersection of the cross streets when he had to swerve to the right to try to not collide with Ms. Bailey’s vehicle. Which he stated was traveling South on G street. Mr. Mannhardt did in fact collide with her vehicle; the driver’s side of Mr. Manhardt’s vehicle had some front end damage (pictures are provided with this report). The white Chevy Cavaliers hood is creased like a tepee on the driver’s side and the headlight is pushed in. There was also some paint transfer on the area of the vehicle where it had been…

On 12/31/2016 at 0213 hours, I conducted a motor vehicle stop on a silver BMW bearing NJ registration, F63GWW for failing to stop at a traffic signal at the intersection of Almonesson Road and Clements Bridge. I activated my overhead lights and sirens and pulled over the vehicle on Clements Bridge Road, in front of Lowes Hardware. I started to attempt a driver side approach when I observed a mid-40's Hispanic/Black male talking on a cell phone. When I got to the rear bumper of the vehicle, the driver sped off from the traffic stop and continued south on Clements Bridge Road towards Cooper Street. I advised County Dispatch that the driver fled from my motor vehicle and that I was perusing.…

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

My past laid out upon a table. My GPA, my resume, my test scores. An unfamiliar man whom I met for the first time was frowning, turning around in his creaky red chair, while hurriedly trying to contextualize my life with just a few pieces of paper. For 15 minutes, he sat there, unhappy, tapping his foot, analyzing what I’ve “done” with my life. He took a sip of water and suggested that I go to community college.…

Revamping Community College In the article “Revamping Community Colleges to Improve Graduation Rates” it talks about ways that people of education are working to help improve the graduation rate. While I am all for more people going to college and getting degrees, I do not agree with the changes that the article suggests. One of the changes that they are trying to enforce is the idea of free college. In the article, it states that “Bills are pending to carry out President Obama’s America’s College Promise proposal to make community colleges free to responsible high school graduates.”…

When I first started Richland Community College, I thought it was going to be a breeze because of it being a community college. From the first week of it though, I realized this is not going to be a walk in the park. I realized I will have to put in extra time to study for tests and writing expansive papers. After being in Professor Trickel’s class for one semester, I have learned to study beforehand and not leave anything till the last minute, his class has taught me that time management is necessary in order to succeed. The class has also granted me new friends, who have helped me whether it be helping me understand the lesson, or sharing their study methods and materials.…

There was a horrible accident that took place in Manhattan leaving the driver dead along with seven individuals being injured. The accident occurred because the driver whom was driving a silver Volkswagen GTI was headed southbound trying to cut between two cars at a red light. Since the driver of the Volkswagen made such a horrible decision it caused the individual to die, not mentioning that they were going 80 mph; so I assume they were in a rush. The Volkswagen crashed into two cars which was a black Chrysler 300 and a red Nissan Maxima. Those two cars were at the red light when the Volkswagen tried to quickly squeeze between them.…

My expectations for Freshmen Comp were very high coming into this class judged by what I had heard from other students in last semester’s class. * I have already learned about metacognition, a word that I had never heard before in my life. It is the part of the writing process in which I think about what I am writing and how I am writing it. As I said earlier, I expect this class to challenge me and push me to write in a style I have only dabbled in a few times. Learning the four major topics we are focusing on has me excited to start writing.…
