Strength Of Myself Essay Examples

Improved Essays
After reflecting back at all of my strengths and considering how my first semester has gone so far I would say the one strength I have used the most has been belief. I say this because it has been the one thing that has driven me. My belief that God has a plan out there for me has helped me to set goals and work towards them even though I can not see what I am wanting to work towards. My core values, or the strength I have of belief, have been a solid and steady rock for me. An example of this is how I have to decide on a major and that I want to chose a major that does not go against my values. Yes, I understand that it does not sound that stressful, but, for me being undecided it can cause a lot of anxiety and stress. Having to make these …show more content…
The old saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is so true here. Success can be as simple as being a better person, some who gives up their free time to make a positive impact to the people around you. Success can also take the form of being rich and successful in the public eye. As for me, success looks a little different. When I envision a successful person I see my father and my mother. My dad is just a farmer, nothing out of the ordinary, and my mother has spent her life being a home maker raising my siblings and myself. They lead a simple life, but in fact they are so successful to me. My parents have worked so hard and have pushed me and the rest of my family to do our best. They have taught me that in no matter what situation to look for the positive and to give my full effort even if it is not something I enjoy …show more content…
I would like to be able to declare a major by the start of sophomore year. A mid-term goal I have is to be able to get a degree in that field of study and to find a job that allows me to help others and help them help themselves.
As for my long term goals I wish to be able to raise a family. My main reason for going to college is the hope that I can get a good job that will support not only myself and my family but allow me to reach out to those around me. Some where in the future I want to be able to coach young men, in whatever sport it may happen to be. I have had coaches that have helped me in my goal setting and I wish to do that for others. I want to help others find the true purpose of life and to help them find their own version of success.
As of now I need to keep working hard every day, week, and month to set myself up for success. I need to live my life in such a way that people around me will question what I have, what makes me so happy so that they will want that too. In college work, I need to continue to study hard and work hard so that what ever major I decide to pursue I will be qualified enough to pursue

I think success is something entirely different. A teacher enriching the lives of countless students can be a success. A bank teller can be a success. The textbook definition of success is “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose,”. From personal experience, however, success is anything that can make an individual feel content with the life the person lives, whether planned or not. Success is not required to be something that leaves a mark on the entire world; success can just be something that leaves a mark on you. As Jon Krakauer, author of Into The Wild, once wrote “The basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure,” (77) I believe that everyone should follow their dreams and accept what comes without hesitation. For Chris Mccandless and Henry David Thoreau, however, success was more about finding out who a person really is by life experiences, personality, and attitudes…
