Question 1: What is Leadership?
Leadership is thought as a trait. People can bring different ideas and everyone has different qualities that they can bring to the group. Some people are born naturally with the ability to lead. This is not the case for all leaders though. Others will develop their leadership through hard work and practice.
My definition of leadership has not really changed throughout the course but I have extend it by adding how leadership can grow by knowing and using your strengths. By using the Strengths Philosophy you can find out what your strengths are and taking one of your strengths, usually the strongest one, and focusing on it. By focusing on just one of your strengths you can make it stronger and it will benefit you

There are 5,799 people who live in my county. Out of those 5,799 people 700 are food insecure, which comes to about 12%. To a lot of people 12% isn’t that much but in my mind one person who is food insecure is one too many. There are so many small communities in my county you could put about six towns population together and they would cover that 700 people who don’t have food. If you would tell someone that the people that live in 6 out of the 10 towns in my county are food insecure then that might get some people’s attention. That is just one way that you could put the numbers into perspective. Currently the county food bank is in my church. I guess I care so deeply about it because I have had the opportunity to help out the food bank in so many ways. I don’t want to just come up with a temporary plan to end food insecurity but try and come up with a long term plan that will allow people not to always relay on the food bank for their food. I think this purpose has a lot to do with my values. You have to have a lot of faith and courage to even try to attempt a project like this and many do not have the faith or courage. It also is about taking risks. I may do something and it may not work or help lower the food insecurity what now I can say that I have tried that and then I can try something else to see if it could help end the food …show more content…
I also plan on being a part time farmer so I could take some of the produce that I grow and bring it to the food bank so the ones in need could receive something healthy and they would be able to take more food that way. I think the biggest gap for me is just expanding my knowledge on food insecurity and how we can end it. There so much more to it than I currently know. One way that I can fill this gap is by taking more leadership classes and probably specifically the non-for-profit class. This will better my knowledge about how we can promote non-for-profit organizations and still be able to end food insecurity. It also would be very beneficial for me to take some economics classes. I don’t want to just help people who are food insecure but try to end food insecurity. To do that I feel that I need to know and be able to understand how economics

Throughout history the National Honor Society has become synonymous with the best of the best. A school club that has built a legacy on students who exemplify the ideals of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. To even be considered for a group of this nature would be an honor within itself. Leadership is simply defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization however, I believe leadership to be much more than simply being in charge. True leadership is simply more than being bossy and I have learned this through my experiences within boy scouts.…

Leadership is providing direction to a group of people that may be seeking or lacking greater information. Through powerful leaders, the ability to transfer knowledge among similar generations takes patience and clarity. Without the existence of strong examples, confusion and misunderstanding would occur in young minds. As my peers and I are beginning to mature, we are transitioning from being influenced by a leader to becoming an important role model to others. Leadership is exemplified in my life through influencing the lives of younger generations, as well as through personal achieved acts.…

Feed my starving children is a non-profit organization that packages food to send to malnourished children in several countries. These sustainable meals are made specifically to pack as many nutrients as possible to help nourish and strengthen the children so they can be healthy and conquer their fight against starvation. When most people think about global hunger they think of a lack of production of food in developing countries, however, it’s more than that. Global hunger encompasses not only food production and security, but also distribution and access. Feed my starving children distributes their packed food to about 70 countries which gives children in these countries access to food that otherwise would not be there.…

A food organization, Feeding America, states that “sixty-six percent of Americans had to choose between food and Medical care” (“Community Health and Nutrition in America,” 2016, para.3). Sixty-six percent of Americans basically had to choose between death or death; that means if an individual chooses Medical care instead of food then he or she would starve to death. If he or she chooses food instead or Medical care, then he or she would not be able to get the medical attention they need and could possibly die. Hunger in America is a devastating problem that needs to be solved as soon as possible. The United States cannot have strong Americans with hungry kids because when children are hungry it is catastrophic for them to fulfill their academic…

Good leaders are important in many situations. They can help members of a group come together to complete a task or goal. It is important that leaders pay attention to their followers needs and ideas. Throughout my life I have always strived to be a leader- whether it has been on the athletic field, in school, in clubs, in my community, or just at home. I have always had the will to lead, but lacked the traits to lead on a larger scale. I believe that this class can help get me over that hump to maximize my leadership potential. The first day we were asked to define leadership in this class and my personal definition was “a person who initiates activity and gets others involved in a way where they understand and are excited to work”. This definition describes me as an individual leader perfectly, but in this class I am looking to develop more leadership.…
