I have found myself sticking more closely to my emotions and flourishing in new situations and challenges. By managing my time well, I have managed to lessen the amount of stress in my life. Thus, by incorporating proportional amounts of time for work, solitude, and relaxation, I have been able to grow into a more emotionally healthy individual. In addition, talking and being open with my friends, as well as having fun with them, promotes my emotional well-being. I have been introduced to a myriad of resources that concern emotional well-being, including the counseling center, mindfulness activities, and campus ministry. Although I have yet to try all of these, I have found trips to the Snite Museum of Art to be calming and a helpful atmosphere for meditation and reflection, as well as inspiration by the artwork on display. Next year, I plan on utilizing more resources on campus to maintain my well-being. In addition, as Dr. Legerwood reveals that sometimes it is easy to get stuck in failures, I will try to employ her advice that "you have to work to see the upside” in …show more content…
I am involved in GreeND and Fossil Free ND, which both promote sustainability around campus. Activities I participate in these clubs involve hikes, fairs, forming of petitions, and attempts to reform Notre Dame’s sustainability plan. I plan to continue my work in these clubs next semester as well in hopes of improving the overall environment of campus and promoting the sustainability of the university.
Financially, I am often worried about paying off debt in the future. However, I avoid spending money on frivolous purchases in order to qualm some of my financial fears. I would like to work on campus, but my workload is too heavy these first semesters; however, I plan on being employed next year and beyond.
My intellectual well-being is actively stimulated through my classes each day. I greatly enjoy being faced with new problems to solve, being inspired by the creativity of others, and learning about topics I never even considered. To maintain this aspect of my life, I engage my mind through activities like I taking classes not focused solely on my intended major of environmental sciences, visiting the Snite Museum, explore research opportunities, and learning from my peers through intellectual conversations. I hope to maintain these activities next semester as well, but also desire to attend a play or musical performance in the future. In addition, my intellectual well-being
