Once the general knowledge is given using the classic tool of lecture using visual aids and examples there will still be questioned. With most students grasping concepts in art is a struggle due to the different way of thinking; giving students the opportunity to ask clarifying questions helps with their understanding. The students that have grasped the concept from the lecture can begin the next step in the journey to learn which is the ability to apply what they have learned to create something. This begins with the brainstorming of an idea. When I am with a student giving them my full attention connects me to them they are more willing to ask questions. An artist can only become great when they start to question things. I want to give them the foundation to make art for the want to produce not just the grade. When a student has met the assignment I would give them the option to make whatever they want to be based off a new idea or something that was another choice for the project. Letting go of the reins as a teacher, without giving them the hope for extra credit, means that they are creating for the sheer want. The more you know about a person the less you will identify them by their race, gender or class. Seeing your classmates beyond the surface level, knowing their name and hobbies allow for the mind to associate them with the important attributes of the student for this class. My students will rotate tables every time they learn each name of who is sitting around them. Art rooms are always crowded and tension can get high waiting for space to use different materials or tools. When you are a community you can smoothly work around one another with fewer incidents. Being aware of your class and the environment allows for you to make against for better inclusion. With every classroom, you will make changes to improve the atmosphere and
