Through social media, I have been able to keep up with local current events happening in Spain during the past few months. This has allowed me to understand more about their economy, prevalent social issues, and cultural changes happening in the country. I have played soccer since I was four years old, so I have always kept myself up to date with Spanish fútbol, particularly Barcelona, and the vibrant culture surrounding these games. I am looking forward to finding out more about the soccer team in Valencia, and maybe even seeing their partially built new stadium, the Nou Mestalla. Everything that I have learned so far from my research has only encouraged me to learn more about the beautiful country and its culture.
Before I arrive in Spain, I plan to invest in a few travel books and brochures so that I can learn more about the hidden gems of Valencia’s local culture and landmarks.
